Empire: Total war from the soldier's perspective
Ойындар
Just found out about this last night.
In order to get this camera angle you press the insert key and it shows you the view from a soldier in the unit you have selected, you use the mousewheel to change to random soldiers in the unit and just move to the camera to get out of it. In ships it shows you a view in the lower deck. Cannon's it shows the view from the cannon or one of the units in the cannon squad.
IF you are watching a unit that is firing (person or the cannon) it will go into a slow mo shot and show the view from the ball to it's target, however this seems a bit buggy sometimes.

I really like this. Looks like fun.
This is awesome. Really glad I found this video. Thanks.
I like the shot at 2:19!! You never expect it!!! Awesome Video!!!
This is freaking awesome! :)
Thank you for uploading
hey thanks for the info on how to go into the First person view. Nice vid btw
thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this, its not that hard to do but nobody seems to have done it
Well Done, Good video!
dude thanks, I didnt even know you could do that!!!
very cool i thank you for showing me this
Yes, you can try changing the download region to another, this usually helps during peak hours in your region. Try changing it to a server in the UK or asia (if you are in the US). To do this you go to view>settings then view the download tab and the second one down is the region settings.
awesome video =D a really nice way to see a battle =D
LOL!!! That shot at 1:56 is amazing! Five men and two horses dead, and one cannon destroyed. That's one hell of a bullet! ;) Nice vid pal
That awsome seeing below the deck.
AWSOME!!!
This is why insert is now my fav. key.
Wow that's cool! :D
that is sick!
I'm working on oa couple more and a review of the game once I get through it some more. The problem with the naval deck view is that unless you have damage to your hull you can't really see anything but your cannons firing and what not.
Just can't wait to test it.
wow awesome thats so immersive.
that was amazing
You gotta love the Insert button.
It's the minimal hud, you can find an option for it in the options menu in game.
Thanks bud it worked...much appreciated hope to see you on the battlefield....cheers
GREAT SCOTT!
Cheers Mate I'll try that out tonight was wondering why I couldn't get the camera down low enough. Love the game running it maxed out settings and its awesome.
wow that looks cool
.....Awesome!
ship battle view looks sick
@iwasinhalowars insert and then you can change which soldier by the mouse wheel. pretty cool when you follow cavalry.
i love the slow motion cause when u strike u think u are insite
Man thats epic that one guy was still playing the drum wilst getting shot at.
omg i cant wait until this game is done installing!!
Nice video, the best scene i like, is the slow motion part on 1:57 - 2:06
Wow, slow-mo in this slow paced game? How exciting!
good vid!
great I was looking for something like that
thanks very much man...... they have introduced the Marathas....they were an empire from my country India.. just like they have introduced the Americans for the first time... thats really exciting.. Thanks
I have the minimal hud turned on, you can do this as well in the game options. I just prefer it over the normal hud so I can see more of the battlefield and such.
You won't be able to run it at max, but you'll still get gorgeous visuals!
You can set them to max in the demo, but for some people it's grayed out , usually if you have a 256mb card or lower.
This is freaking awsome!!! wish it was in hd
Just scroll with your mouse wheel up or down and it will change perspectives within the unit you have selected. Sometimes while it may appear to be "over the shoulder" you may actually be seeing it fro the guy standing behind the front line soldier.
In Empire all of the playable factions are there from the start. There are none to unlock like in the previous TW games. However the minor nations will most likely be available to play soon via the modders, though I wouldn't expect them to be as fully developed as the playable factions.
Thats so cool.
nice inside the ship was cool
The subtitles can be turned on in the sound options menu.
Well, even if it is - you don't have to use it. Which makes it a good addition in the end. Personally, I think it's cool. I used to pan in behind my soldiers in Rome and Medieval 2 to see what it would be like in their shoes.
it must be really scary... just standing in front of your enenmies and hoping you reload faster then your enemie
the skirmishers like green jackets used cover and stuff but the mainline infantry still used formations and battlelines because it was a good tactic in ways of volleys, they could use their bayonets more effectively in a line or block to make a wall of bayonets, it was more effective against melee units that still used swords or cavalry and so on, many reasons why thatstrategy was still effective for the battleline infantry but skirmishers used the spread singleminded tactic fighting bythemselvs
this is freakin cool i wanna try this out!!!
1:55 Holy shizer! those old brown bess muskets must of packed some punch!
thanks! ive gotta look into that one
the one in the ship is awesome
They didn't all use formations and such. Some units would ambush and use cover, but not the majority. However one of the reasons they used formations for main lines was because of the guns of the time. Most weren't very accurate at that far of a distance and along with the reload times were a couple of the reasons that formations like the famous British formation were they would shoot, duck and reload and then the back line would fire were used
The retail version of fraps lets you record as long as you can. As far as cutting down on the space a video takes up, you can but it will come at the cost of some quality or other things In the fraps options for video put it to half size, change fps to a lower one (IE 25) and you can also turn off sound (if you plan to say put in music or something and don't need audio). Doing that will reduce the size the captured video takes.
Ahh the redcoats, the best musket infantry of his day.
Rome is older but the fights are fight with swords and bows and axes and so on and in empire with guns as you can see. My new favorite is empire
Yes, their awesome
the gameplay of the listed games is great and don't think that you are gonna get bad graphics if its good gameplay..these games have one of the best visuals i have seen specialy Assassin's Creed
This would make an awesome first person shooter: "What in god's name are you doing soldier!" "Taking cover!"
There are ragdoll deaths, but it seems to happen randomly, not every single person that dies uses physics rather just one here and there, at least for me. Awesome seeing a guy from a calvary charge get knocked back.
Yes, it came out yesterday for most people in NA/Europe.
ship point of view was coool
Insert key, then use the mouse wheel to change views within that unit.
You can play online against other people through the game (as long as you have good internet), as well it also has lan play (for computers on your own network).
amazing game
cool bullet view
Wow this game is so awesome.
Awesome! going to use this on an elephant unit.
grapeshot was only useful at quite close range, cannon using grapeshot was probably close enought o get minced by a bayonet charge, and the morale boost of having a large group of soldiers round you was invaluable especially in poorly trained troops likely to panic
@DRyalyan the muskets kick (the push generated against your shoulder when the weapon is fired) is way stronger than modern rifles kicks because the weapon was very heavy so it could have dislocated or broken your arm
this game looks awsome!
@iwasinhalowars Press the insert key to switch to it. Also works the same in Shogun 2 if you have the new one.
I'm going to try this now.
Generaly found near the home ky, page up, page donw, end, and elete, in the cluster of 6
2:14 - Incredible! I must play this game once again!
That is so fucking awesome!
The drummers and the Bagpipers were the bravest men on the field (apart from the Highland Regiments with the Highland Charge) they would keep playing until they died
0:30 lol great view!!
1:57 damn that was one hell of a shot.
@TheStandofTheLastGuy yeah they say that being a sailor back then was worse off than being in prison. Even prisoners had better food and lived in better and more sanitary conditions .
Here comes the Machinima...
i hope shogun 2 has this as samuris and you can see a sword fight in first person
This is cool as hell, its like you turn the game into a PS1 FPS!
it work this is a fun features because when i playing the British i can make better strategics on my attack
nice man
would be awesome if they also let you have the in-battle option for fighting in first person
@santa6688 I didn' say that "every army that uses guerrilla tactics is a terrorist group". what i meant was that it is ironic the fact that rebels "defeated" an empire using (mostly) guerrilla tactics then they became an "empire" themselves, and now they fight rebels who use similar tactics in war. Hope I managed to be clearer this time. :-I
cool real cool
Cannonballs do bounce actually but no dismemberment.
@JustMarcellino right, and Mount & Blade kicks ass.
well maybe the problem with the special units is that in 18th century troops were only named differently. If u take it into simple matters the technology was nearly the same in every country but elite troops were only named different as i said basicly every troop could just be named *basic*. *elite* and so forth
@TheMasterSurvival Lol, its the Hessian Line Infantry unit(from England) and a regular line infantry unit(lol still from England) plus they were playing early battle.
Cool!!! Just another (of many) reasons to buy this game!
@Rami0Rack it was the notion of honour I think, it was dishonourable not to stand and shoot each other...weird but the whole time was lol
I wonder what It looks like with the melee units and elephants :O :3 Maratha here I come (:
Low cpu and the video card is on the lower-mid range. It may run but on the low settings.
true but they do not have much habitable land left to industrialize to...maybe they will find a way eventually but for now there is dust blowing through the main cities and there are the himalayas in the way
