Old memories when I was 7. ( Rome 2 can't make massive battles like Rome 1 ).

I think the largest Rome 2 battle i ever had was 13k, 3 Carthage armies against 2 Roman armies. The newer TW games seem to have smaller units even on the same settings.

with mods you can do even larger battles 😂

@@albertwesker6865 If you have the hardware 😁😁 my GPU and MB dies in January and i had to take a downgrade but yeah modding allows for bigger battles. The newer titles seem to have smaller battles anyway.

I remember watching this around 2008 - when I started playing TW. It looked so awesome (still does).

Yep units still look great, unit cards look great, terrain looks great, models actually die when getting hit with 1 or more javelins 😁😁. Haven't actually seen this ported to Rome Remastered but lots of other OG Rome mods have been.

I love rome total war so much . The the legions were masters of bending there formations to every angle , and the game does it so much justice .

I loved how you could look at ur city in this one :D

Now I am 13 and I last saw this video when I was 6. Damn.....

He only won because he had a full stack of 1st Cohort Legionnaires, no offense to you but it hurt to watch this. Also, the Seleucid Empire was actually Macedonian (Hellenistic) based.

Great battle, i got stuck with a shitty comp so I can't play big battles like this so it's nice to see a good quality fight that doesn't involve 300

That first barrage of spears was awesome!

I played it in no mod campiagn, and I beat it in very difficult difficulties in both battle and management. And, by beat it, I mean I conquered every single city on the map. Skipii rocks!

The easiest way to defeat a phalanx is to attack from the flank(preferrably left) while another unit holds it in place.The phalanx though tough from the front,is very vulnerable if attacked from the flanks or rear,or,on rough terrains.Generally hoplite armies had swordsmen or heavy cavalry to protect the flanks.Also,phalanx like armies were prone to defeat once the battle line was broken,as most armies were deployed in single lines(contrary to triple line-Romans)

in the danish/saxon shield walls they used axes for hooking and pulling, so yes, in theory you could, thing is that they can pull back on a rope with a hook, but and axe isn't that easy to just grab without letting your guard down... in principle you could but i think it was the series ROME where i saw that the legionaires had these leather straps on their backs, and the men behind them held them there to pull them back when they were dragged out or when they just went out of line

Greatest game I have ever played. I do think that Empire has the POTENTIAL to be the greatest game I have ever played, but not at the moment.

its called Rome: Total War. an awesome game, tons of fun. released in 2004, lots of people still play it(me including lol). you can get it verry cheap(saw if for €5,99, expansions cost even less) you might wanna check out Medieval 2 Total War out as well, doesn't cost much either there is also Empire: Total War being released this year

@TechnoWoOt Since you are the most recent person on here I have a question. What exactly is the SPQR mod? Does it allow you to have more factions? Is it something you have to pay for? Sorry to bother you but I've been a fan of Total War for a long time and Rome is by far my favorite so I was just kind of wondering.

Parthia is something like a more modern version of Persia.The original Persians got wiped out by Alexander the Great but,after his death his empire fell and Parthia was one of the Empires that rose out of the ashes of the Macedon Empire.

In a phalanx type army the best way to decimate it is the tactic "roll down the line".You set the army in a line strong enough to resist while reinforcing the right flank with your most powerful units.While you break the enemy's left flank with that,you simpli "roll down th line"And this is very easy since the phalanx is engaged with your main line,considering the fact that it is a very rigid formation also.

Well you say that - one of the most effective ways of taking the phalanxes out is to pin them with infantry and charge them from the rear. Even better still is to pelt them with missles on the way in.

this is a really good fight wat difficulty do u have to have it on to make the comp act this smart or do u have to have the mod also u comp must be very fast cos mine cant play ne were near this fast wit out gliches or siriously reduced grapic options
