My testimony... I was in the music business for years. I was behind a handful of gangsta rap albums. I am from the streets (hood) so Elvis wasn't in my upbringing. I didn't know much about Elvis since I was young when he died. I was born in 72'. Bacc in 2010 I decided I wanted out of music. I don't like rap even tho it made me some good money once upon a time. Then I came across Spa Guy's videos one night and thought... This is different so lemme checc it out. I am hooked! I am such a big fan of Elvis now. I ordered all his movies and downloaded his full catalog of music. I am going to go to Graceland next year. Spa Guy took a blacc guy from the hood and converted him! Man I wish I could have gone to an Elvis concert!

Bryan Wayne i usually listen to talk radio. Now my flash drive in my truck is all Elvis. If i were a time traveller I think Elvis would be my 2nd pick on who I would go back and talk to. And Jesus would be 1st so that should tell u how big of a fan I am of Elvis now. I remember when I was a kid I heard grown ups mention that Elvis was a satanist. I never looked into it or anything. But I do remember them saying it had to do with the TCB and tje lightning bolt. In one of Spa Guy's videos he said "Takin' Care Of Business" in a "Flash". Made perfect sense! And that is how rumors get started. Lol

This brings to mind “happy days “back in the day when I was in high school.... I had a picture of “shirtless Elvis “in my locker, which my English 👩‍🏫 teacher ripped down, and threatened to give me an “f” If it ever appeared again.. I got an “f”and the picture now lies in state in my “Elvis room” a reminder of those “happy days with Elvis “. I would have loved to have attended high school with Elvis,I’m sure he could have taught me many things 😍❤️💕🎶🕺

@@SpaGuy Sorry you had to do that on the same day. Thanks for this video. All schools from that era seem the same a little clinical and dark inside. I worked in a school and I can honestly say that the kids who stood out like Elvis did, dressing and acting differently, were ahead of the time. Like they know where they are going and cannot wait to go and do it. The stage got to me,as I realized that was where it all started for him. Imagine being picked on,and the day after winning the contest everyone wants to be your friend. It was touching that Elvis had two friends from this time, that remained his friend throughout most of his life. Thanks spa guy you are the best.

Spy Guy, so amazing how big the High School was. Being that it was a grand city of course the High school would have many students. I remember we did plays by every grade one a year. How that contest changed Elvis life from being bullied and different bc of his looks to being loved and adored bc of his looks and different talent. Singing, acting and performing for others to share your uniqueness. I wish I would of met Elvis and got advice on what made him so determined to be a singer and entertain the people. I am so interested in what motivated Elvis to become bigger than life with everything the world had to offer and give him. Fame and fortune while being loved tremendously by his fans, family and friends. Thank you Spy guy for showing g us Humes High.

Jesus, Humes Middle school has seen better days. We are from Memphis TN. My mom use to teach there back in the early 90’s and retired from there some time after 2000. When I was a kid I remember that school was always an eye sore. I remember seeing all the windows busted out of the school building back then. I always thought it was odd to have so many windows broken out of a school of all things. But that’s pretty common for that area of Memphis. From the video the outside of the school looks in better shape these days at least. Guess they fixed all those windows finally, boy I bet that was expensive. 😝

I went to Horn Lake Elementary in the mid to late 1960s and later Sheffield HS off of Lamar. My old Horn Lake school bus stopped at Circle G Ranch every morning, at the gate there. This video was outstanding! I've often wondered about Elvis' high school years and experience as a student. There is one minor error I caught, however. In the part where you comment on the library card which shows 1948 as the checkout date, you said that would have been his junior year. But in 1948, Elvis was only a 13-year old middle-school boy. Regardless of that, the video was immensely enjoyable. Thanks!

I visited Humes High back in June of 2015 or 2016, maybe 2014? Can't remember. The principal was a lovely lady and gave me a free tour. At that time, there was no fee but you did have to have a reservation. She said I was probably one of the last people who was going to be able to tour the High School because it was going to become a charter school and she was afraid that Elvis fans would not be able to tour in the future. She obviously loved taking fans around. She was leaving with the existing students. I am happy to see in this video that the tours are still available. I went into the auditorium walked around, stood on the stage, went into the gym, saw the black guitar - Elvis really did sign that guitar, went to the cafeteria, and went into the "Elvis Room". The Elvis Room was a locked classroom that had Elvis items and memorabilia from that time period. There was one locker and a football jersey of Elvis'. It was so small. I asked if that was his locker and she said yes. There was also a yearbook or two and a graduation ceremony phamplet. The pamphlet was just an 8×11" piece of paper folded in half with basic info on the front, the date, etc. and inside it had the list of graduate names. And I was given a copy as a souvenir. I know I have it somewhere in my house. All I know is that I was SO EXCITED to visit Humes High and got goosebumps the entire time especially when it came time to visit the auditorium. I took A LOT of pictures and video so I can appreciate what Spa Guy has done here in this video. I didn't have a drone so that was great to see. I knew about the house around the corner from the high school and that the house was no longer standing. And I never heard of the bathroom story so I have to look into that now. ......Great video, Spa Guy!!! A++++/ 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Red and Sonny had great Elvis stories. I have watched the Memphis mafia stories many times. They are here on you tube. Fun to listen to them tell them.

So, interesting and very cool of the high school to offer tours. Back in grammer school in the early 1980s. The letters were E= Excellent -A G=Good -B S=Satisfactory -C U=Unsatisfactory -F I do not remember the letter they used for a D grade.

Always wanna to see the inside of this high school where the king attended. I always wanna to go in person at least to check the outside of the building. Thanks for sharing this kind of gold with the world my dear friend.
