Elvis Presley - A Look back at the Brooklyn High School Concert in October 1955 Near Cleveland, Ohio

You know, there is a reason why Cleveland is the heart of Rock-in-roll. It’s not only the home of the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame but the term itself was popularized by northeast Ohio radio disc jockey Alan Freed on mainstream radio in the early 1950’s.
And what else was going on in the early ‘50’s? You got it! Elvis! ..and Northeast Ohio was indeed on Elvis’ tour schedule just as he was getting ready to launch into stardom later becoming the King of Rock and Roll.
And today we’re going to talk about one of Elvis’ early trips to Ohio - The Brooklyn High School Auditorium in Brooklyn, Ohio just 10 miles SW of Cleveland. We’ll share with you some history, talk to a student who was actually there at the show, and visit the very auditorium where it all happened.
So come along with us - this is going to be a pretty special gig - right here on History and Relics.

@@RockabillyRetreat that’s awesome. He is a very nice gentleman. He was very helpful and kind. It was something to stand in the same area where Elvis and Bill Haley once played. Very surreal. I hope you have a great time. If you have a chance, stop by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in downtown Cleveland. They have an entire area dedicated to Elvis, some of his outfits, motorcycle, military items, etc. very respectable presentation worth seeing! Enjoy!
