Very true. Michael said that he saw Mrs. Fine like a second mother because he was always on the road away from his own mom. He even said during an interview how him and Janet would pay for their utilities. It broke his heart when her senility declined; and she could no longer recognize him as she advanced in her geriatric age 💔

I was in the first row from left to right 3rd little girl next to girl wearing black dress, I have great memories of my childhood at that school, Michael was the most memorable memory there. I remember when this kind of media was ALL you ever saw of Michael Jackson. Awards, merit, charity unmatched. UNMATCHED. He was what our parents insisted we try to emulate. His music was universally "great to listen to" by our parents, and our schools. I remember this so well. I remember these points so much more than anything else I have seen in just the last 15 years. And that stuff should be easier to remember, as it is closer to now. I think because it was so trivial to the point that was Michael Jackson. This is what I remember. It may not be what others remember, it is just me. I was lucky enough to live in the time where the man and artist was more important than the bizarre and exploited.

BEAUTIFUL. Thank you Larry Nimmer. I read that you originally thought Michael Jackson was guilty and then after your research you realized he was always innocent. That older woman he hugs at the end was the tutor for the Jackson 5 and they loved her very much. It is so sad to realize that in just a few years, that first lying family would accuse Michael of molestation (Chandler kid). So sad to know what Michael was going to have to deal with and how horrible the media would be about him. Such a beautiful, gifted, loving person. We will never see that again.

He really did get crowned a King somewhere in Africa I forget where.

When Michael was a sixth grader at Gardner Street Elementary, I was an eighth grader at W. H. Jones Jr High and I couldn’t have imagined having a person at my school making number one hit records. We were freaking out about the Jackson Five in 1969/70 from Mississippi, so I could just imagine how they felt having one of the members of the group in their classroom.

Michael was a beautiful man and his spirit will live on. A true soul never dies and that's why so many people try to emulate him. He is the soul stirrer and his legacy will live on. RIP, my dear Michael! Your infectious smile and genuine love, will never be forgotten.

I have never seen this before... the media never bothered to promote stuff like this... I wish people knew about all these wonderful things he did. they were so lucky to meet him.

I'm her today because it's Michael's birthday and I was one of the ushers at this dedication. My son attended this school and he was so elated that Michael was going to be there. My son was a huge fan of Michael and so was I so I made sure I bought him one of those red jackets (a duplicate of the one Michael wore) they were very popular then. I told my son to take the jacket to the dedication to see if Michael would autograph it. My son 's teacher was controlling the kids so he didn't get a chance to ask him but I got the jacket and stepped away from my post and handed the jacket with a felt pen to Michael and asked if he would autograph it for my son AND HE DID! My son is grown now but I still have that jacket. I don't think the event was highly publicized because for a star like Michael, there were not that many people there. There were a few inside and out but not like the whole city showed up. Happy Birthday Michael! You are legendary and that will remain forever!

I was there in 2012. It was an honor to see the school. There was so much joy that day of the dedication. Michael was so happy. Thank you for this. What a shameful disgrace when they covered his name in the post '93 hysteria. Thank heaven wiser minds have prevailed.

Can’t even imagine actually being there seeing him so close up in person. I’m watching on my tv and have a big giant smile on my face. So I know it had the incredible to be there in person. What an amazing human being he was 🙏🏽

Precious...I started kindergarten that year and it warms my heart to know michael returned to his school the year I started school. What a beautiful moment frozen in time and what lucky kids. If only we could go.back in time, simpler times and Michael was still here and on top of the world.

What a wonderful event that the school put on for the students and for Michael. How unforgettable for these children. I am also certain that Michael would have been honoured by this. It probably meant so much to him as this isn’t an honour bestowed by the music industry, but by regular people leading regular lives of which he was part of for a brief moment in time. I am sure it was special to him and I believe him when he said this was the best day. God bless him.
