I went thru the house and museums and stayed at the Graceland Guesthouse last week. It was the 1st time I’ve been there and I loved it all. Although I went by Elvis’s grave on the tour, I went back early the next morning and was able to sit at his grave alone for 20 minutes. A wonderful experience. It was worth every penney I have saved for years. I am a 70 yr old widow and have loved Elvis since 1957. Also love all the videos and stories you tell Spa Guy. I know it takes a lot of time and research but you do the best ones but it’s so much appreciated.

I would love to take Elvis on a tour through Graceland! I think he would laugh his tail off at first...then when he see's how many fans still tour in 2020 with complete love in their hearts for him...he would then cry his tail off with the love he always gave them back! Elvis I pray your looking down! Rip EP ❤

Appreciate your time and efforts to produce these excellent video's! Amazing how it seems nothing Elvis ever owned was thrown away. If I ever get to meet you and your wife at Graceland, BBQ is on me. I'm a former Memphis rocker from the "hair band" days and had the privilege of meeting many people who knew Elvis, before he became"Elvis."

I can remember seeing Elvis there signing autographs often when he was alive. Clarksdale has a huge musical history. Elvis played our Auditorium. John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke, Ike Turner, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, and many more have roots here. Come see us.

I went to Graceland one day after Pricella unvealed the Elvis stamp in 92. Didn't realized I missed this event until I got there. What makes it worse is when I was coming home to SC, I stopped in Atlanta to visit the Coke Museum. I had my car broken into right in front of the city's courthouse and had a bunch of stuff stolen, including almost all my Elvis stuff I bought

FYI, the cape that is shown is not the original one from the Aloha from Hawaii concert. At the end of the concert, he took the original cape off and threw it into the crowd. The very first cape that was made was to heavy as it was a "calf length" so it was shortened to the size you see now.

Spa Guy, glad you mentioned about the lesser costs tickets and what you can see (how it has changed and where to get tickets). I hope my husband and I can go to Graceland some day (been at the gate in 1970s), visit Tupelo, MS too, but expensive. I love the pic of Elvis at his famous gate. (My husband and I were at a Captain D's here years ago. When we were in line to order, it was apparent a man with his family was trying to look like Elvis. I did not know if he was an Elvis impersonater, but would not be my first choice. When he was finished ordering, he said, "Thank you very much," and trying to sound like Elvis.)

Was always curious how they could tell for sure the suit in the exhibit is the actual suit worn in the aloha special. Can you enlighten me or maybe do a video just on the aloha special? regards and thanks for the work you do on these videos, i really like it when you do the "then and now" picture comparisons.

Thank you Spa Guy for sharing with us your Elvis adventures. There are a lot of us out there who may have read about Elvis but may never be able to visit the places you take us to. I feel like I'm right there with you. I was fortunate to visit Graceland in 2012, but a lot has changed since then and glad to have the opportunity to see it here. I have one question don't know if you could answer. It seems that all the places Elvis lived in Memphis are now in bad shape or vacant except Graceland. Is it because the neighborhoods over the years have changed? Even Dr. Nicks house was abandoned for a while. Thanks again, Debbie~

  • @SpaGuy

    @SpaGuy

    6 жыл бұрын

Debbie, Memphis as a whole has deteriorated in my opinion and the neighborhoods are not great.. Even the area Graceland is in was a great neighborhood and now it is dangerous.. Dr. Nicks house on the other hand is in a very affluent nice neighborhood but the house was very expensive even in it's non pristine state.. It was about 650,000.00 which is out of most peoples buying range not to mention probably having to spend another 2-300,000 to get it back in livable condition.. That is why it sat empty for about 2 years.. The Audubon house is in a still nice neighborhood but the rest are not.. Thanks for watching, Spa Guy

Great video. Thanks for the tour. So all those little shops across from Graceland were torn down. Too bad. Some people at EPE call it progress however, I don't like the design of the new Elvis Museum and that "boxed store" effect. Money Honey. For the viewer asking about Elvis' jumpsuit worn during the Aloha From Hawaii Satellite Broadcast. I invite everyone to search online. There is plenty of information relating to Aloha. One great book was published a few years ago dedicated to the Aloha Satellite Show. Spa Guy mentioned a missing belt. There were two made. Elvis gifted one to Jack Lord, the actor famous for the 1970s show, "Hawaii Five O." This belt was offered to Jack Lord BEFORE the broadcast. This story was offered in detail in Jerry Hopkin's book, "Elvis: The Final Years." The second replacement belt was removed by Elvis and thrown into the audience during the second show, the satellite broadcast. Again, search online for who owns that belt today.

The raquetball building use to house a few jumpsuits and many record awards Elvis recieved Posthumously. Its all across the street at the new complex. The raquetball building now looks as it did while Elvis was alive. you can now see the actual court he played on shortly before he passed.

Spa guy, speaking on when he switched guitars in the singer special (comeback) as a singer you probably already know that if elvis wanted to be heard a bit more, but, not be amplified, he probably should've went with a martin d18 or a d28. I know he used a d18 early in his career and had Martins toward the end of his career/life, however, at the time, I think he was going for the bling, although, I'm not a gibson hater, I own and a j45 standard and a martin d28. It is just that a martin was made to be heard through other instruments...those gibsons he had are nice and beautiful though

I heard that after the Hawaiian concert, Elvis threw his cape and belt into the audience. And that the cape was returned but the belt didn't make it back to Elvis--that someone kept it.

With the Fair set up in the museum, could U ride the Farris Wheel Elvis loved so much? 😂 lol lol!!!!!! The picture u should of Elvis and Scotty holding each other guitar 🎸, in that pic who is the Blonde Hair guy sitting on the floor beside Elvis. If they moved all of those items from that building they used to be in behind the house, I wonder what they did with that space. I have not been to Graceland since 2009.

My favorite jumpsuit was the American Eagle and It would be nice for owner of the belt to loan/donate it back to Graceland. I wonder how many replica's they sell at the gift shop at Graceland?

Scottie sold that guitar way too cheap. Hard Rock got a steal . I think Scottie sold it for $10'000.

I have wondered if you can still purchase tickets to just the exhibits? I wonder if you still can in 2020. I've been to the house several times and sometimes I just want to walk the museums. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing in such detail, but all of this makes it (in my opinion) like a theme park, instead of Elvis's home. If that was my Daddy's home, I wld NEVER EVER sell any part of it whatsoever. Sad...

Wow they have really changed things since I was last down there. I just really hope they don't start getting campy with the displays and money grab crap for the all mighty buck. I know money talks and b-----it walks but leave Elvis with a little dignity I say. Elvis would have not wanted to jab his fans in the pocket book for crap and trinkets. Thanks again S.G. Very entertaining.

I didn't see any security while you were filming, but I'm sure they are around via security cameras, otherwise stupid people would be breaking things.

I hope with this new project . That the company didn't over project sales that may been the driving force behind all of this and the visters attendance go down hill. In short. I hope this retail didn't get too big too late..

Bob it is possible.. I think they have 20 more good years before the hard core fans die off but that could be a stretch.. It may be 10 years.. What blows my mind is they are taking in about 100 million and year on a property that has been essentially paid for for 40 years and are having to borrow around 40 million... If i was taking in that kind of money I would have 500 million in the bank by now easily.. Thanks for your input.. Spa Guy
