Mickey Thomas - one of THE greatest voices in rock and he still had it goin’ on here in a major way! These live, low-fidelity recordings can make even the best singers sound weak, but Mickey’s voice shines like a diamond! And Elvin’s guitar work was still as wonderful as I remember at the first rock concert I ever attended back in 1978.

Travis Mackie he's an old man now. His playing was ok. Nothing like the record. Cheers.
Mickey Thomas still great as ever!!!!!
Mickey Thomas, awesome vocals with Starship, "Sara" My fav of all time :)
Great bass player and her instrument. Mickey is great and no one can hit that classic guitar lick/solo like Elvin. Great song.
I saw Mickey THomas on the blues cruise 2011 in october, he was not just on stage but on the pool deck, kicking back, and I couldn't help but notice how GREAT he still looks, nice 6 pack!!!
Thinking of you everytime this song plays Diana
Love it 💜 when they've done this for a few decades and they still have it. I know they appreciate that they can still do it too. Great job guys. Nice to see ya. 🌷

Elvin 's best voice. Check out Mickey doing this live acoustically on the Howard Stern show. Simply Flawless! The only thing missing was great Elvin.

Mickey's voice is timeless at any age!
Fantastic.. Mickey never fails to do a great job.. and in original key !
Mickey Thomas can still belt it out! Elvin is still the mudda-fuggin’ man!!🤘🏽
Thanks for posting Blues Dr! Elvin is the most underrated guitarist of all time.
So nice to get to know Evin back in the 70's.
THANK U ❣️

I don’t know what he has been through, but I love and respect his musicianship.
OutFreakingStanding tune. Elvin Bishop Always brings it! Mickey Thomas is a stone cold natural soul man. Hard to beat that combination.
99 percent of the bands in existence couldn't do that, unreal a man that age can sing that well, and if you listen closely that guitar playing was excellent.
The melody is pleasant!
Going to see him tonight at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. Great place to catch these groups.
Can't beat Elvin's guitar licks!
ELVIN!, I LOVE THE LEAD GUITAR IN THIS PIECE BABY!!!!!

Fabulous vocals from Mickey Thomas at aged 60 plus there. Looking just like the same MT journeyman footy player from the 80s. Hands across the water! :-)

I saw Mickey with Jefferson Starship about 5 years ago . He nailed it ! WOW !
Wow, bout 1979 or 80 these guys played the Dukes stadium in Albuq, NM and blew the place away! Just a big happy party from start to finish. Elvin looked like a split watermellon smiling the whole time.
One of the greatest classics of all time. The original extended album version was awsome.
Remember seeing him on "WolfmanJacks MidnightSpecial"..loved slowdancign to taht song to..best slowdancing song besides percy sledge 'when a man loves a woman'!..:) and Elvin you still look good hun!..:)
A DYING BREED!❤❤

This is just too cool for words, thanks! Enjoyed it! Nice to see these old rockers still kickin' it, with the help of some young blood, like the cute blond on the bass! :-)

Wow awesome after all theses years...he still sounds the same..👏👏👏
What a great job! I came here thinking this would be mediocre at best, considering this recording was 35 years after the song came out. I was WRONG. Mickey Thomas, man, what a voice. I thought Elvin and his band were tight as well! Loved it.
