I think he is in the tradition of Monty Python: a surreal view of life. What do you think?
@evelynbaron2004

Well I think he belongs to a weird and wonderful tradition which is surreal comedy and includes the Marx Brothers, Monty Python and everybody with half a brain who went to Cambridge and thought the footlights were a good idea so I have to apologize to a lot of people including Stephen Fry who actually participates in social networking against the advice of his friend Hugh Laurie. who ever is reading this you work it out, no-one reads what I write so who cares.

We joke about these types in New Zealand also.. the standard type has a beard (obviously) a native style arm tattoo plus various other tattoos and either works as a coffee barrister or boutique beer bar with some kind of web design or graphic design on the side. And they usually have a bulldog type dog or some kind of trendy cross breed. Basically a hipster NZ style. And they carry an apple MacBook around and sit in cafes drinking boutique coffee and beer. And sometimes some kind of tweed or tartan kilt for some reason.

But… when I have finished laughing and turn off the screen I realize that I have more disdain for the world (and hipster baristas) than before I started. That’s not something great to live with all the time. It’s ok to enjoy intelligent cutting sarcasm but somewhere you’d need a break to actually love life enough to not drink yourself to death. He is really funny. Dara O'Brian is another irishman who makes me laugh but Dylan always seems slightly drunk. I wonder if he is? And oh my God I love his messy hair..it suits him so well. I'm pretty sure the apparent drunkenness is part of the act. We saw him years ago and he did the thing of getting louder and angrier and slurier, but he was actually sipping from the same glass of red wine the entire show. Unless he knocked back a lot at the interval, he was as sober at the end as he was at the start.
