    I get asked that sometimes and I don't find it annoying at all. If you look different it isn't that strange that you get asked a question like that. I suggest just to grow up and understand why they might ask such a question. I find the caution people have when asking such a question to be a bit annoying as if I were so sensitive as to be angry at such a question.

  • @MicrophoneHell-ec3bm

    @MicrophoneHell-ec3bm

    5 жыл бұрын

    @Nicholas Baguettewerfer40 It is a racist question to ask. If somebody tells you where they are from, then take it at face value. Especially, if you live in a multicultural environment. That question is a reason why minorities have difficulties assimilating. They are proud of their nationality, but they are constantly reminded that because of their skin color, they are second class citizens. The majority skin color will probably not ask that question to an immigrant with the same skin color as them.

  • @nicholasbaguettewerfer4075

    @nicholasbaguettewerfer4075

    5 жыл бұрын

    Microphone Hell What on Earth are you on about! It isn’t racist to be curious unless its goal is to degrade them. If you do look different from the majority obviously you will be more curious as to why they look like so, a southern Italian could be asked that question or a sub saharan. The way the behave and act is the most important aspect to most people as I have seen. They become naturalized citizens if they behave like so, and also cut the second class citizen bull crap, I have no idea where you live but in many European countries it is monstrously fine. As to people being proud of their heritage, that’s fine to most people and as long as you don’t show it in public (which isn’t necessarily bad in itself) you won’t get asked any questions. It is great if you’re proud to be a member of the country, but the intention of these questions isn’t to be bigoted as I know you’ll claim but curiosity and that should never be taken away as I hope you’ll agree. If the person is rather familiar with you already this won’t do much except for fulfill his curiosity and in almost all cases (I say here in most of europe) it will continue unchanged.

    Phil was pretty funny and his delivery was good without being too long or rapid. Phil is mixed, English mum and Malayasian dad, born in the UK and lived in Malaysia and moved back to the UK at 16.
