@acctfornose real talk? No generation is really any different than any other... Hence why the Greeks were saying exactly "oh these kids these days are so x or Y"... Sorry bud. This generation isn't special. It's just a long slow slog to what common sense and empathy told us to do three thousand years ago... Just everybody wants what their parents had so they fight any reform that will help except for about 20% of people who aren't selfish narcissists... Causes people in different generations to make all sorts of assumptions especially if they think they can humblebrag themselves into feeling better about how little their generation is actually doing... USA is legislating anti trans and already rollbacked roe... We're currently traveling backwards because of some stubborn hateful fearful people...

Honestly my favorite part was the ending where you addressed your past and the people’s perception of you while also staying lighthearted, you even cracked a nice zinger of a joke right after! But really, I was thinking exactly what you said: I, of course like many others, found you all those years ago on AGT. And while I did get to watch you and your comedy grow, I had definitely never heard you touch on such controversial subjects one after the other, to me you really were just that kid with some jokes about his stutter that I watched so long ago. But you changed my perspective, you’ve given me new respect for you as not only a grown man but as a comedian as well. Your jokes were intelligent and funny while giving just the right amount of “he probably shouldn’t say that” cringe that people love. I know I’m just one watcher in this huge ocean of fans, but I am thoroughly impressed and thank you for opening my eyes!

He touched all the topics that are socially difficult and made us have a thought provoking laugh at things he knows we need to deal with in a more meaningful way out-side of comedy. He is a really talented contributor to the public square. Outstanding!

It’s a few weeks on- But I really hope that the world is being a little kinder to you, and that you’re being kind to yourself. If nobody has told you: you’re doing a phenomenal job. Truly. It sounds like you’ve got a lot up against you right now, a lot of things which must be weighing very heavily on you. That would be difficult at the best of times. But to do so as the parent of a little one? Knowing that you’ve got an entire life to provide for in addition to your own? Damn that takes strength and courage. Please prioritise yourself and your needs in ways that you can. Meeting yourself where you are, with what you have at the time, and asking yourself _What do I need in this moment?_ and _how can I best meet this need?_ _How can I show up for myself right now/today/this week?_ Just this week I read something about how mythologising our lives can help us to handle them. In essence, if we view our lives as a story/fairy tale/fable/or even a Greek mythology for example, it can help us to see our lives like a great epic. The normal drudgery of everyday life, the overwhelming pressures, suddenly become just a part of the bigger story. A story arc which leads to our character development and takes us closer to where we dream to be. It gives us all the chance to be heroes- the heroes of our own lives. Even the tiny moments like going to work, or running out one night to grab diapers from the store in the middle of winter with a 2 year old in tow, and catching 3 buses each way becomes a side arc, a quest for our character to overcome. A dragon to slay, fresh berries to collect, or some bark to collect from the island so that we can make rope for the castaway sailboat we’re building. It may sound silly, but there’s a lot of power to be found in becoming the heroes of our own adventure, and understanding that each battle is simply part of our characters growth, & leading them closer to what may not be a happy ever after (happiness after all is course a space, not a final destination) . But certainly leading us to our castle/Atlantis/Pride Rock Sending you love and strength.

For real. A smart guy with smart commentary and great writing/delivery skills. And the ONLY person I've heard make homeless jokes that actually felt based in reality and not just treating people as props. I was homeless for a while and it's true, people will just Say Things and it's not always for a "reason". It's the sleep deprivation. It got to me too eventually, and I'm usually considered very socially adept. You can't do shit while sleep deprived except turn into an angry lunatic. It almost makes me think that's literally the point. But the more people who become homeless, the more people will be forced to humanize them. We're a poor country. There's no use trying mental distancing tactics.
