It's honestly the play rn for most Comedians. The streaming companies stiff em etc. SHane Gillis was the first If im not mistaken, then a lot others have followed suit. I'd even wager they make much more off the youtube revenue than the distributors of before, barring of course they are popular enough.

Usually when a comic makes that face, it's to let the audience know there was a double meaning to the joke. Like the bit where he was miming the school shooter "shooting" people with the temp gun. He shot himself in the head with it and exclaimed "I'm sick". Then he smirked at the crowd, cluing them in to the "sick in the head" joke.

I love that he took on “heavier” topics, making both sides comical. Brilliant! Absolutely hilarious! I’ve been watching Drew since AGT and had the pleasure of seeing him live a few years ago in CT. I had the honor of meeting him and sharing with him how much of an inspiration he was to me. When he was on AGT I was still struggling with my speech and mobility post stroke. Now, years later, I’ve moved to NH. I just spent a few months traveling down the east coast, spending time in VA. I’m headed back to CT to spend Thanksgiving with family before heading home to NH. I never thought I’d be where I’m at or doing what I’m doing, but here I am. It was hearing his story of perseverance that gave me the kick in the butt I needed. “Why am I giving up?” So I decided not to. Thank you Drew for sharing your story and talent with the world. You’re absolutely hilarious and you’ve come such a long way. Be proud of yourself, we’re all so proud of you. 😁

This is an absolute gem. I have appreciated your humor since I first saw you on AGT (which says something, since I don’t normally watch the show) but I felt compelled to say that you hit the mark, again and again and again throughout the whole set. At the very end, the whole “bandwagon depression” bit had me literally laugh out loud, which as a very reserved person, and a soldier who has suffered from PTSD for many years, I found especially funny. Thank you for all you do, and the courage to confront “your demons,” thereby allowing all of us to have just a bit of a better day. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart

And as far as reactions go, I totally agree. I never expect anyone to just instantly be like "oh ok cool". Obviously there's an adjustment period, for everyone involved. The surprise reaction is completely natural, it's the attitude you take AFTER the surprise that matters. TLDR; I love your comedy. Keep it up :)

I’m not saying that definitely was not a personal experience of Drew’s but you guys do realize that stories comedians tell are not always the truth, don’t you? Sometimes it’s just hyperbole…fictional material designed as a great setup to deliver a great punch line. If you related to the story on any level and recognized it as a truth no matter how painful or dark the story may be, but then couldn’t help but laugh about it in the end… then your comedian succeeded. But it doesn’t mean the story he/she told really happened to them.

@@mandijean28 Ok, well as I said, I wasn’t saying that this did not happen to Drew and if you have good reason to believe this part of his set was real then who am I to argue? However, I was also suggesting that when and if any comedian tells a story on stage that really didn’t happen to them-that they just made it a part of their set-it doesn’t make them dishonest! It’s just part of show business! If I suggested that Drew may not have really experienced something that he said he did on stage that isn’t being unkind to Drew! I’m certainly not calling him a liar! And maybe Drew is the exception and only tells stories that are 100% actual true stories, but my point was that it would be naive to say all comedians perform to that standard and it would be silly to suggest that they are doing something immoral or “wrong” if they didn’t.

I love that he is not caving to wokism and that he makes his jokes and gently chastises anyone who might get irritated without pandering. I think this shows his intelligence because shortly after making such jokes, which are only jokes and nothing malicious, he changes topics and does not linger on the material that triggers the miserable people. He doesn't cave but he also doesn't provoke. That's smart. Other comedians with long-time careers stay on the topic far too long and it becomes unfunny and arms the miserables. Drew's comedy is clever, bold, sometimes raw, never boring, always engaging, intelligent, and most of all hilarious! I love this guy!

Drew, I am in awe of how fast you've honed your talent! Your special was an absolute MASTERPIECE, and my wife and I think you might already be one of the greatest comedians in the game. Congratulations! Really looking forward to a chance to see you live. You are one amazingly talented comic and a true inspiration!🙏

Drew, I just discovered your comedy and as someone else who stutters, it is wonderful to hear someone who speaks like me. You are funny as hell.

Ngl, as an English human being on this planet I was not expecting much just for the fact that American and British humour can be very different but as a person across the pond I thoroughly enjoyed this and found it absolutely hilarious 👏

I love that his own personality is coming out and making jokes just as a comedian and not leaning on his stutter! So many comedians lean on their outwards differences, it becomes the opposite of empowering.

He used to be the funny stuttering comedian but I am legit just so impressed with his sense of humor whether he has a stutter or not- he’s off beat, clever, perfect timing and lots of great call backs- well done!

I remember watching Drew on AGT in 2015 and laughing my butt off. Now I find his specials years later on KZread. I got Concussed, And These Are Jokes and Short King queued up. Incredible talent, you've worked very hard to get to where you are. Looking forward to these specials and more to come. Thanks for making me laugh!
