WOW Pete..!! I sure remember Chunk and Adam..!! haha.. and I totally understand...!! they can get so very heavy..!! and a trim is just fine... its what's needed.!! AND... its brings your lovely face back to us a little sooner than a yearly update..!! I bet it was very emotional..!! as long as your dreads 'were'... i bet you could probably sell off what you chopped off..! Enjoy that freedom and a much healthier neck and elbows..! :) take care.. peace and hugs... Jo

That's how long my locks are now and I am thinking of doing this on the weekend. But then you had to go and talk about memories hahahahah. I'll report back in 18 months :D

You were a huge inspiration. I watched your videos over and over during the two years I was growing my hair out. Sad to see some of them go, but respect your decision to do so. Hope all is well.

Thank you for sharing! I have to trim mine now for health reasons with my neck too. I really needed to see this for the support to know I'm not alone. Thank you!! I hope your health issues have improved since your trim!

Haha, you're cutting away as much as some people have total :D . . I totally get it, I kinda wish I had trimmed mine instead of cutting them away totally, completely. They become part of who you are and cutting them away leaves you with an identity issue :)

This video made me cringe due to having dreads myself and even though they are only a month old I have grown so very fond to them on an emotional level. I'm glad you are doing it for your health though. It shows strength:)

Happy new change! :) I would love to see how you re-blunt the tips after a trim like this, and how they look when done. Have a nice day ^_^

It really surprised me how clean they were inside... your hair and scalp look so healthy and beautiful... can I ask what do you use for washing them? Blessed Love!

Vivek Annapurna for the first 3 years I used a clear, non residue shampoo. I also had a scalp oil to deal with the first few years of dandruff (this happens as the scalp adjusts back from regular conditioner and product usage). For the last 5 years I’ve not used any special product, and I wash them far less. This is because the natural oil balance has returned and self cleans the hair. Hope that helps?

baggeeboy thanks for your reply... it does help :) you are so sweet and beautiful!! I have had my dreadlocks for 8 years, they are now under my butt and as much as I love them they are getting too heavy on my neck and specially on my scalp, which is the main issue as I discovered my hair is getting thinner on the gaps between my dreads (did that happen to you too?) I love my long dreads but kind of going through a hard moment with them lately as they are not so healthy anymore since they got so heavy :(... have been watching videos of trimming dreads lately and found yours very inspiring as you just went for it so decisive and unattached :), so I am just gonna go for it too... thanks again for your reply... sending my love from Colombia!

You’re dreads are so neat they look amazing! Can I ask how you look after them, I used to crochet but found it was time consuming and making my dreads look unhealthy. I leave them to do their thing now as I’m only a year into my dread journey. How do you get your ends and roots so neat? Mine is just loose hair at the ends and roots.

Hey there! Going on 7 years with mine and recently have been experiencing some pretty excruciating back and neck pain. Did trimming them help?

Poems Jones I’m sure there are better techniques and yet mine turned out fine. The ends formed back into blunts quickly and I’ve had no worries since. Hope your business thrives.
