I had my hair to my backside for nearly 15 years , i had it cut last week and i love my new short hair. It took me about 3 months to make the decision to cut it , i had a niggle that kept telling me to cut it for months on end , so i finally bit the bullet and made the call. I was nervous as hell when the day came , but I'm so glad i did it. I've had more compliments in the last few days than i have in my entire life. I've lived the long haired male life , I didn't want it any more , but making that decision was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make.

@@nicoelgreeko ... the rule for barbers is you go to whichever one has the worst haircut! Gone for the chop yet? In September I'll be 45 and it'll be 25 years since my hair was cut short, about 6 years since it was cut at all. I was big into drums so it was kept short enough that it could be out without getting tangled up in the equipment (snare tuners etc). Now I can just about sit on it, so in the gym I'm the guy on the rower with a baseball cap on and my hair under it! I get the odd chemical burn from shampoo and it's a pain to dry, but rarely do I think of getting it cut. If I start going bald it's gone, but as things stand I probably look younger because of it so it stays as is! :)

I feel you man. Had dreadlocks for 7 years, then cut them. After cutting them I shaved head. I still remember the feeling (cold, fresh, liberating) of the first wind breeze after shaving.

I’m almost 12 yrs. last hair cut was in 2009. Since the birth of my son I’ve been thinking about cutting lately. After watching this dope ass video I think my decision is made. Which made me actually cry. 11 years is a long time. Lot of memories.

Some of the ancient Vikings did have dreadlocs. Saltwater and wind dreaded their hair when they were sailing, if they had the right kind of hair to loc.

I'm an old hippie, and always loved long hair, but hated dreads. They look filthy, like they are full of lice and mites. They are also not good for the scalp because of the weight and hygiene. He must have really enjoyed that first shampoo. It's often a shock to get long hair cut the first time in ages--it's so much of your identity--but sometimes you have to reevaluate the vibe you're presenting to others, not just your mirror. Now if he'll get rid of the diapers. He's way too old for that look.
