    I had been watching both sets of vids completely independent of each other, then was staggered that you guys had hooked up!! Love coincidences like that!!! Hahahaha! I'll keep ye posted on progress!!

    yeah, my tips did that early on, but using the crochet hook each time tightened them enough to keep them in check. Each time I swim or wash them a few hairs pop out, but I think the battle is now won!

    You hair s beautiful. Love the color and keep loving your beautiful hair. When I had mines in, I only did maintenance three times a year at the most.. I sleep with mines pulled up in a high pony....

    Lovin the loc's mate!! They look amazing!! I'm starting on Saturday coming and I can't wait!! My hairs a bit longer than it is in the current pic (naturally curly/bushy too), so hoping they work out. Your vids & ColinDreads777's are spot on!! Good honest guys, admitting your own mishaps and experiments and passing it on for us!! Big Thanks!! I'll post my progress too, think it'll just be pics though! But can't wait for my dread journey!!

    So I tried to respond last night and had to remove it because i was on my work account, but Thank you for posting these. I'm in the process of growing my hair out from an awful hair cut so I can dread it. Until then I have extensions. But you have helped me determine which method I will use and your journey has been inspiring.

    A lot of hobby shops/sewing stores have crochet hooks and other needle like tools that can be used in dreads. If you haven't checked them out in your local area

    Congrats on the 3 years mark! Your 13 days ahead of me, my 3 year dreadaversary is on the 25th. When I sleep I always have my hair down, I usually just put it behind me if I'm sleeping on my side. But I have noticed that the length can get in the way when sleeping :( awesome to see your dreadlocks again!

    Tie my treads in a loose bun n put a pillow case over my head and tie with head band lol! That works for me not getting dreads caught under my head and also keeps them tidy. Seen a silk sleeping headband used but im just a cheap guy haha! Cool vids bro, get some more sleep n bless lol

    Your dreads, sir, are beautiful! And your sense of humor really makes you wanna check out more vids! I'm getting ready to dread mine in about another six months, and I'm watching videos of peoples' journeys. Glad I stumbled onto yours! Noticed you mentioned DreadHeadHQ as well. I'll be going with those guys as well. Their products are top-notch. Again, thanks for the videos and best of luck to you.

    Cheers dude. I'd recommend my friend Colin (ColinsDreads777) and also check out LazyDreads too. Both guys have great vids and useful insight. The growing out process is a tough one but I'd recommend you leave it as long as you can - it'll really help the look and the maintenance in those early months. Peace.

    Cool thanks I'll check them out as well. My hair is already below my shoulders, and now going down my back after just one year of growing. I'm going to give it six more months and then get them dreaded, so they won't be too short once they're in. Cheers

    Answering your question: Use head & shoulders to clean it up, every once in a while use baking soda and water to deep cleanse your dreads. If you'd rather not crotchet like you've been doing, add salt water to the mix ! I, personally, use salt water from the ocean. But yeah use salt water and lemon, you can add baking soda like I do and use essential (extract) oils to make it smell nice. The salt water and all would help make loose hair dread up. it works ! All you have to do is wait !!!!! Even without the salt (water) it will dread up itself. It just takes movement... and don't let loose hair get toooo long... unless you want a dread from one side to lock to another from the other side. If so, just pull them apart. DO NOT break them !!!!! if you're unhappy with where the loose hair goes, it's either 'cause your hair is too long and dreads up with another far root.. or it's locking up wrong. But don't worry about it. After all, that's why we all have dreads right ?! Don't worry brotha ! It will all settle out as planned. But what ever, I wrote enough already to get you onto your natural lock process. REMEMBER !!!! Locking is a CYCLE ! not a process !!! you will always have loose hair, and it will NATURALLY dread ! Just keep your hair clean and the loose hair that will ALWAYS happen willl also dread up ! It takes enough time so that you may not notice... but so too will loose hair. Don't worry about it, just keep your hair clean and you'll be okay :)

    Wow . Man If i diddnt know any better i would say those are fake ! I am Amazed . Mine are 4 years old back comb and crochet needle maintained and nowhere near as perfect as yours . how did you get them so relaxed and soft ?

  • @baggeeboy
    @baggeeboy10 жыл бұрын

    Good questions dude. So, I guess theoretically I could leave my dreads to do their thing no, and the new growth will eventually dread up. BUT, I find if I leave it too long then I get congos, which is not in my plan. So now I just concentrate on my roots, carefully pulling the dreads apart. It's time consuming, but worth it. Re: H&S - I use it all the time cos it's so good for my scalp. but I still use dread shampoo for the rest of my dreads. It's your choice, but I'd recommend it. PEACE.

    Hey man, I'm not sure if you've answered this already, but i'm hopefully going to be getting dreads this summer, and I was wondering if you have an idea about what caused yours to grow so smooth and straight. :p

    I kept my dreads really tidy in the early months using a hook and palm rolling, and carried on that way so I could keep the kinks and loops from forming. My hair is naturally dead straight, which helps too. It means that the hair isn't trying to curl up or wave and is all chilled out and relaxed! Hope this helps.
