On july 16 2012 The world lost a Rock Legend and i cried for someone i never met, but for a person that i loved very much..You will be missed by many & remembered forever, be at peace Mr Lord ..Jon Lord, who fused classical and heavy metal to make Deep Purple one of the biggest rock bands in the world, died Monday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71. Lord suffered a fatal pulmonary embolism, or a blockage of the lung artery, according to a statement posted on his website.
Born in Leicester, England, on June 9, 1941, Lord took classical music lessons as a child, and as a teen became enamored with the sound of the blues organ.
Later, he was among the first musicians to successfully and seamlessly blend the two influences using a Hammond C3 organ, distorting the sound, and routing it through amplifiers. While best known for co-writing the Deep Purple hit, "Smoke on the Water," Lord never strayed far from his classical roots. The band's "Concerto for Group and Orchestra" in 1969 was one of many chart successes

I think Glenn looks back on his glory days & tries desperately to relive his 15 minutes of fame...As for Jon Lord, i think he was (i typed is & had to correct it....it's still hard to believe he's gone) probably the most humble & selfless person in rock n roll..maybe ever

Hughes was just a good village boy from Cannock but Blackmore trained him "My fair lady" style, to become a rock star, and Hughes fell into the drug trap and turned very violent and egotist. The same did Blackmore with an amateur singer ,Coverdale, after quarreling with Paul Rodgers in just few days, Blackmore resentful took the first amateur he found and was Coverdale, himself an imitator of Paul Rodgers, Blackmore trained him ,Coverdale was a fast student! Played Pygmalion with them .

Even though i may get death threats Ritchie blackmore (1st lead guitarist) Tommy Bolin( 2nd lead guitarist)...So many people get pissed off if you even mention those two names with the same breath...But Tommy deserves his place in there just like everyone else.aka R.B

I see Glenn a little differently. He had MAJOR issues at the time and I find it very brave that he is so honest about the things he did and how flawed he was. I'm hanging on every word he says. Yes he's telling his story but it seems more like a catharsis than any conceit. Just the impression I'm getting. I knew little about him prior to today other than he was on Burn and had a great voice.

I didn't mean any disrespect, Purple is in the top 3 hard rock bands of the late 60's & 70's, but if you look at the albums vs members chart ( and again no disrespect because all of these guys are more talented than i could ever wish to be in my wildest dreams ) Bobby Woodman (DP'S first percussionist) Rod Evans (first vocalist) Nick Simper (first bassist) Ian Gilan (2nd vocalist) Roger Glover (2nd bassist) Glenn Hughes (3rd bassist & 3rd vocalist) David Coverdale (4th vocalist)..A lot of

Guys would have killed for an open position in that band...So when i say 15 minutes, it's more of a nod to what they created in what little time they had in Purple rather than a knock to it...: - )

To keep youtube from pulling it, but they have since went to audio matching & dropped the video matching method...That's why some of my videos have been pulled..I have found a lot of them reposted back on youtube by people that live in european countries...They don't seem to have the same issues (threats) from youtube that i get..I'm glad that they are just out there & i am not bitter at them at all, but when you work your @ss off editing converting reposting..Any anger i feel is toward youtube
