What I also like about Gael is that he believes in the ashen one more than everyone else in the game: he helps him during the boss fight in ariandel, and than leaves him tips throughout the ringed city. but why? that's because gael knew the ashen one will kill him, and that's everything he was looking for. he survived the ages till the end of the world, just following his mission: create a new and better world, something not rotten as the one he's living in. all he needed was the dark soul. and he knew right from the start that his own was a one way trip: as by description, he knew he couldn't handle the power of the dark soul. so he helped the ashen one, because he had faith in him: gael knew he had to be killed. he survived the ages, did the dirty work of killing the pigmies, and he knew right from the start he was about to die, entrusting the final part of his mission to the ashen one, the only one left capable of handling the power of the dark soul. and he did all of this for a world he knew he wouldn't be able to see. in his own right, that's what a hero is...

Matt J. Dylan how do you actually get him to summon during the boss fight cause i’ve seen footage of him being summoned mid boss fight for friede but I don’t know how please elaborate

before going downstairs to the friede fight location, his sign will be on the left. it will give a message saying gael will be summoned later a different location (which just means downstairs, in friede's arena, in phase 2.)

Absolutely same with you. I think the end fight with Gael is the best thing From Soft could have done for the end of the series. Its a fight between two warriors. Not gods, not some almighty beings, warriors which fight for this world. And of course bringing in pieces of the fight against Artorias from the past that everyone knows and loves is just awesome!

Would have been great but... Berserk is the inspiration for the whole series. It would have been a problem with copyrights and honestly it wouldn´t fit so perfect either in the end of souls. But as an optional boss ... Amazing ;)

Gael's bossfight and Friede's bossfight are tied for my favorite. I just can't choose. I love how high the boss quality is in DS3 compared to the other games which have too many fillers bosses. Particularly DS2.

Those transitions from player-gael to boss-gael were orgasmic as fuck.

I fucking love this song, the way Guts men cried to have him back and never to leave them again. Guts relize what he was looking for was staying by his men and leading the blind followers to a better future, song is so beatiful I fucking downloaded that shit, now everytime I listen to it, it just reminds me of Guts himself, fucking love the anime

the attacks of the weapon art is like the attacks of Guts while wearing the Berserk armor.

Gael's bossfight was REALLY hard to get used to. Not because he's unbeatable but because he changes direction mid-jump. That was so counter-intuitive and unreal-looking it confused the hell out of me. Once you get used to that, holy shit what an awesome fight that was

That only applies to dark souls 2 because almost every weapon in there is balanced and mechanics of the game require your skil with theml. Dark souls 3 is like a casual bait, some weapons are utterly overpowered and some are underpowered, game gives you %100 tracking on attacks and infinite i frames on rolls with a very small stamina cost. Player's skill doesnt really matter in here

All of you weapon intros are really well done, with how they flow into different camera angles. However this one is hands down the best. Keep up the amazing work on your videos

I just wanna say that your content is one of the best - not just considering the Souls-series, but all youtube content. Excellent work, hats off to you. (Sidenote: please don't invade me, for God's sake! :D)

If I had to make a top 5 of my favorite bosses in DS3, it would go like this: 5. Soul of Cinder (Obvious choice, the final boss of the game, the music and setting are a big part of it) 4. Lorian & Lothric (The music is for a lot. But also because Lothric is really questioning our morals. If linking the fire really is the right option. Is our choice the right one?) 3. Darkeater Midir (What fighting an eternal dragon should actually feel like. Tanky and powerful) 2. Slave Knight Gale (I literally cried when fighting him. It's the end of a saga, the end of a franchise. The two nobodies in a world where all odds are against fighting it off to create a new world. The music when fighting him also has a big part in this choice.) 1. Black Flame Friede. ("When the Ashes are two, a flame alighteth. Thou art ash, and fire befits thee of course." When I heard those words, my heart skipped a beat. Then she rose, with a tower of black flames. This scene gives me the chills every time I have to fight with her. Gael got my emotial side. But Black Flame Friede went straight for the badass opening of the fight. Had it not been for this, it wouldn't even be in my top 10)

Talking about Gael with Guts theme in the back just makes for such a perfect video, makes me think that boss fight was a reference to so many things.

About time your using it best weapon of the game if you know what your doing... Great content ;) Not only one the best greatswords but even one the most weapons from software did IMO I lobe this weapon!
