An4LDr1p616 maybe sl140 I have a mage on that level, is not more powerful but you can invest levels on healt and stamina wich are the main problems of all caster builds, also there's a lot of people on that level I play for hours and always find people on the arena whit more faith, piro and caster builds so more variety duels

OSTs used in the video are: Seething Chaos-Dragonslayer Armour OST Great Soul Dregs-Aldrich OST Lighting Arrow-Orstein and Smough OST Flame Fan-Aldia OST Projected Heal-??? anyone knows? Old Moonlight-Midir OST Also Seath didnt have scales so he got the "impure" Moonlight while Midir was a "true" imortal Dragon born with scales ence why he has the "original" moonlight (just a thought).

He only showed himself using the heal once and then never used again as he was talking about it.

Also flame fan's first stagger animation hit makes ALL hits deal counter damage- not just the second flame fan hit. You can flame fan into black flame for ludicrous damage.

Sean Crow You can reliably get it off assuming connection is decent. If not, they may lag through it.

2nd hit is not a counter hit. the reason it does more damage is because the 1st hit stuns the enemy like a normal R1 would, but it also puts them in instability frames, and any attack against someone during instability frames will do more damage and cause a "thunk" noise. you can only really take advantage of the instability frames with the second spell cast though, since the first flame fan attack animation doesn't really combo with any weapon attacks. just a slight delay between using the pyromancy flame for this spell and performing something like a weapon R1

For a while I had a pyromancer and in the arena i think i'd use black serpent, flame fan into black flame? Was a true combo I never saw anyone else use back then. Needed parting flame as well Would usually do 900-1200 damage and you could also spam murky hand scythe after and sometimes get 1500+

From what I understand. Midir was ancestor of the ancient dragons and was around during the age of gods along with Seath. I think we can assume that Midir was given to the pgymys by the gods as a precaution against the Dark.

replace "ancestor of" with "descended from". The ancient dragons waged a war against the gods and pygmies. After the war most dragons were dead, and a young Midir was taken and brought up by the gods, as a countermeasure to the groving darkness.

also remember seath was in kings field as a name. *hell id say its a prequel to the age of fire, but thats a stretch even by my standerds*

PVPskills, quick note about Seething Chaos. The spell is field-capped at two uses. If you toss a third while there are already two condensing, the oldest will instantly dissipate. Notice how the cast at 1:46 kills the cast at 1:42.

11:00 that spell is broken in PvP duels. It's basicly Estus. Fast animation, huge healing effect. Only that it costs MP, but MP are somewhat trivial when you can just use a meele weapon with FTH scaling and use all Ashen Estus for healing. *(not to mention that it has the same casting animation as some other miracles, so you never know what's coming)

I literally thought it was a glitch, only now do I know it's actually a legit thing in the game... Some healing stuff just needs to be banned in the arena.

I really like that you include PvE and PvP information in your videos. Most PvP youtubers would just tell us how it performs in PvP and leave it at that. You go the extra mile and tell us how it performs in both. Keep up the good work.

In case you didnt notice PvPSkillz, the Seething chaos only stacks up to 2 times. I have noticed cases where 2 explosions are already charging and you can place a third but thats never consistent. So if you have 2 on the ground, seething, a third one connecting with the ground or a wall will stop the oldest explosion from going off, for lack of a better word

Just my experimentation with the spell but if you have 2 seething chaos lumps on the ground and you throw a 3rd to soon the 1st will de-spawn. I have managed to time it so while the 1st one is exploding while my 3rd is landing and that works perfectly fine. The key is the point of impact, the spell can be cast as much as you want but you can only have 2 lumps at a time.

thanks for the info but I had another inconsistency when testing it myself. Sometimes the projectile hits someone and then also sticks on the ground.

that background music is great. Midir's theme. and it gets crazy in the second half of the battle. what an awesome boss.

From what i remember Seth and Midir were both in King Field as opponents and the Moonlight Sword was actually the equivalent of the Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda.

Been coming around to your vids for quite a while, and this has to be the one that sold me on you. Great analysis, great combination of footage and narration, and the promise of more detailed content like this makes me very exciteted! Which of these do you consider the most 'viable' for a pvp setting all around? I think I agree with you on the Old Moonlight spell in terms of awesomeness, just holding that stance makes me feel edgy as hell, especially in full armor (say Lothric knight set or so).

Lighting arrow: Both miracle rings, red tear stone ring, tears of denial if you want but definitely needed, you can also use lightning clutch ring or magic that boosts attack.

I don't know why but i love it when you say "hello wonderful people"

The best pyro glove for flame fan is actually the parting flame because it has a unique mechanic where amd extra flame hitbox comes out when you cast with it. The fan is melee so you're most likely to hit with the extra hitbox.

Using the Crystal Chime with the new spell Lighting Arrow is really fun. With Flashsword and soul greatsword you look badass. I like using any Darkmagic and catching roll aways with lightning arrow.

Desert Pyromancers are *HOT*. Get it?

great lightning arrow has completely transformed faith builds. You can beat opponents without taking a single hit if you time your​ roll catches right

One thing great about great soul dreg is that people usually forget that rolling backwards away from it will get you hit 90% of the time.

Huh.. I might make a spellcaster build again, after seeing this. Old Moonlight looks fun. Also, I'm really surprised that you'll still be doing Souls things. Since TRC dropped, I've seen a bunch of content creators drop the game. Its nice to see that other people are sticking around.

As I understand it there is no real connection between Seath and Midir aside from their shared allegiance to Gwyn and Anor Londo/the Ringed City. Seath's crystal research was based in the Primordial crystal of the Ancient dragons and so any crystals tiassociated with Midir are likely part of his being a True Ancient Dragon. One thing i had heard that could be interesting is that Shira, the woman behind the locked door who asks you to kill Midir, has a crown that has a pearl from a Maneater clam, an enemy in Dark Souls 1 we only saw near Seath's bossroom in the Crystal Cave, or in the Ash lake close to the Ancient Dragon covenant.

Hey Skillz. I love your videos. I was hoping you or someone could explain the nerf to endlessly summoning phantoms you mentioned at the begining of the video. I've looked but I can't find any info on it anywhere.

Also the animation of the cast of that spell is identical to the casting animation for the moonlight sword in kings field.

Hey PvPSkills, fantastic video as usual! I wanted to try explain what could be the connection between Midir and Seath: We know from descriptions that Midir was raised by the Gods to protect the city from the dark and fight the Abyss. Well why would they use a dragon after having killed them all in a war? I thought he could be the son of Seath (or one of his creations), after all Old Moonlight says it is a memory deep in Midir and he is covered with crystals that seem to be corrupted by the Abyss. We also know from Shira that she is a descendent of the Gods and daughter of the Duke (Seath?). So I think Midir could either be son of Shira or probably son of Seath and maybe Filianore (she carries an egg that in the concept art clearly has black crystals in it). I don't know, but i feel like his connection with Seath explains why he was raised by the Gods being a dragon.

Projected Heal is hard to hit people with though, especially if they run off or frantically go in many directions.

minor note on projected heal: it seems to be the fastest casting healing miracle making it a bitch to punish if the caster aims it at their feet to heal themselves.

You ran tests with the Parting Flame for Flame Fan, correct? I'd assume that each swing causes the small burst of bonus damage to proc, but I haven't done any work on that front myself. If it works, wouldn't that Pyro Flame be better? Obviously it becomes less useful if you use Pyromancy spells that aren't point blank, but still.

@PvPSkillz, you can also add the buff from "Rose Of Ariandel" to miracles ontop of Sacred Oath & Deep Protection + Banner Buff. Have been hitting the little dragon guys in archdragon peak for nearly 1k dmg. with Lightning Arrow. So if one wishes to REALLY go ham with miracles... I guess thats the way! :P

Are you certain the Flame Fan wouldn't deal more damage with the Pyromancer's Parting Flame? Perhaps I've misjudged the effective range of the spell, but it definitely seems like it would be *monstrous* coupled with the close range buff.

that projected heal spell is so good in PvP, even duels, casts faster than 'heal', leaves you with more stamina afterwards, costs about the same, and all you have to do is aim down or hit a wall next to you for a cheeky heal. Expect 'Point Down' to get thrown at you lol.

I love how caster builds are more viable now since the new spells and infusion buffs. Now I regret choosing the demon scar instead of seething chaos. Guess I'll either start at ng+4 or reroll my char xD

i think flame fan do more damage when casting with the Pyromancer's Parting Flame because it has the fire trail

The reason I get the old moonlight spell from midier might be because he was alive in the time of the gods and probably knew seath and his sorcery

I know I'm late, but wouldn't flame fan do an insane amount of damage if you use the Parting Flame catalyst, as the flame trail left behind by casting does a ton of damage? (or just use black flame)

Hello everyone, I have some details on the huge water balloon (great soul dregs) At/with: 60/60 faith and int bellowing/young dragon rings dark damage headpiece oath of sunlight on sunlight straightsword oath of sunlight miracle (they stack!) deep protection lothric war banner buff in right hand lloyd's sword ring/ red tearstone dark clutch ring maxed izalith staff in left hand (buff when used) I did 2000+ damage to the hollows outside the shrine pretty neat

I use the hell out of Old Moonlight in PvE, it's a straight upgrade from the great-sword spell and i even replaced great soul arrow for pulling aggro.

Could we get a proper dark build video since I’m not sure what spell to use and what kind of catalyst to use hell what kind of weapon I should infuse with dark

Since the Moonlight Greatsword didn't have an AOE on its projectiles, I was sort of disappointed that Old Moonlight didn't too, but oh well, it's still awesome.

I'm happy that every spell in the ringed city is super viable and useful.

I use the court sorcerer staff, and greater soul dregs does a good amount of damage. And I love old moonlight

Hey pvpskillz, or anyone for that matter, could you investigate something for me? I don't have a faith build yet so I'm not sure but I heard vow of silence got a buff. How long does it last now without a lingering ring? I'm curious because I really liked the spell in the first dark souls.

I made me a new cleric character just to use the Lightning Arrow miracle. Can't wait to see it in action with all the good rings. Speaking of which, since it's a bow, I kinda wonder if it's affected at all by the Hawk Ring.

It's not a bow. It's a spell. It's only affected by rings that affect spells. That's like saying ring of blades would increase soul greatsword damage. ya filthy cleric

Farron Flashsword can be parried, so weapons spells can be susceptible to physical weapon technicalities to some extent. The Hawk Ring affects throwing knives and firebombs, so it's not too far fetch to wonder if a spell that emulates a bow is susceptible to bow modifiers.

Did you forget about the AoA pyro glove for all of the pyromancies or did that get nerfed

Midir is covered in the same dark crystals that can be seen in the abyssal swamp. Obviously this is due to him literally being a dark eating dragon.

I wish I could have tried Brawls. Nobody does them anymore and they look like hella fun.

you can only have two seething chaos explosions charging at once. If you spam it too fast, you'll cancel your first casts explosion.

PvP can you please do a all dark spells miracles and pyromancies. I am working on my own full dark build and really need to know more how dark works

Death may have had some claw in raising Midir as I doubt the Gods knew how to properly raise Midir.

Actually PVPSkillz, Great Souls Drags is a pure sorcery spell from what I'v tested, and it's more effective with the court sorcerer staff in my experience. Not to mention with the crystal buff from the right hand, this brings the spell to OP levels.

Well in the Kings Field Seath was the Brother of another dragon called Gyra. Gyra formed the moonlight sword to kill Seath. Seath formed the Dark Slayer another very powerful sword equal to the moonlight sword. Seath was supposed to be seen as a deity of good while Gyra was supposed to be considered evil. They both fell to darkness, and well that's how the kings field games start.
