Sharks get a bad rap for biting people, but they literally have no other way to figure out what something is, except to use its mouth, which has a LOT of teeth in it. They’re just a big dumb fish, folks, like the only thing they have going on upstairs is “Eat, swim, eat, swim.”

It's worth it to mention sharks really aren't mindless killing machines. The more we have come to understand about them, the more safe it's become to swim with them and interact with them. That bull shark was not being aggressive, it wasn't moving very urgently at all really. It's a good chance it was just going to take an exploratory bite, which yes, because they have teeth, will hurt. It didn't try to follow her outside the water much at all once it realized she was moving away.

The reason for the giant space catapult is actually very cool. It would be used so rockets could use less fuel. a lot of the fuel a rocket needs isnt used in space, its used escaping the gravity well that is our planet. If you can use all that fuel, or even a tiny bit of it in space it would have been better since that fuel can be used to go further into space, instead of escaping the planet. That or just so they can add more mass onto the craft. Very cool way of doing things, and honestly i hope the tests go well.

For most people (at least that I've met through diving) if you have a lot of experience you've nudged a shark away from you, so it makes sense that a professional wouldn't thrash around immediately.

Im confused as to why Skitten is deathly terrified of whales, cuz even tho theyre big they arent very harmful to humans unless you get in their way. Yet shes okay with seeing a shark, which has a MUCH bigger chance to merk you if it sees you. Phobias are very interesting

By definition phobias are irrational. Most people couldn't explain why they have a phobia, it's not a condition that abides by the rules of reason.

Well, there’s a couple explanations. Whales are much larger than sharks, and some people are terrified of large animals. If not that, then remember that only a starving shark will tend to go after a person. Sharks have actually been shown to avoid eating people, and are more liable to go up to you curious, than to eat you. If they bite you, there’s a good chance that they’re trying to learn about you, since they learn through biting things around them from what i’ve heard.
