I love these M10s. The only issue is the filters are a bitch to replace, and I dont think you can get rated filters for them anymore. Certainly better than nothing though, and decent against tear gas (as rioters the world over proven) Thanks for explaining the CBRN bottle top. I have never seen that before, and frankly I think its a brilliant bit of design.

Oh yeah I’m pretty sure the only filters available are 30 year old surplus ones. The straw is a neat feature. I’m sure it was appreciated by soldiers that had to wear these during training or exercises!

@@MilitariaReviewed The white Filters are Riot and the grey once are NBC. Gumárny Zubří inc. is the builder of this masks 1970s-present, sometimes you can buy new filters. The sharp NBC filters can be recognised by the vacuum-sealed aluminium packaging in transparent foil, printed LF-10. The company still manufactures these, as well as the masks. Not for sale to end users. In undamaged original vacuum packaging, they have a shelf life of 100 years.

This is very useful. I'd been considering one of these for a while and recent events point to the need for one of these things, so I figured I'd get one now to avoid being too late. Thank you for giving me the information I needed!

So I tried a different setup with the camera this time, and I think that it is significantly better than my last gas mask video. Please let me know what you think!

I ordered one today, but I don't know if the filters are safe. I don't think they have asbestos in em but some help would be useful

Is it safe breath through the original filter?

Actually the outer lens are dust covers that’s literally it to stop your good ones from breaking

Glad you enjoyed the video! I’ve seen a couple websites that have restocked M10s recently. They were pretty hard to find for a while because of the pandemic. I believe I got my chemical hood from eBay. I think it shipped from Europe. See if you can find one made out of East German “raindrop camo.” Those look really neat and I’m still looking for one myself.

It depends on if you are planning on wearing it or not. This mask is very front heavy and I wouldn’t want to have it on for long periods of time. You also cannot buy new production filters for it. The M10 is definitely a cool mask though. If you want something more “practical” I would probably go with the Yugoslavian M-2. It uses a 40mm thread so you can use modern filters with it. In my experience it is also a much more comfortable mask. I did a video on those a while back. I think Numrich has some for $15 with the carrying bag.

where can i get a lid for the bottle that lets me drink??

As far as I can tell, the stoppers were normally included in the bag when the mask was issued. From what I have seen no one has actually sent one off to be tested, but the general consensus is they don’t have it. They do contain chromium which can be dangerous if you breath too much of it in.

If you were just wearing it for a little bit for a costume I would say that would be ok. Just make sure no charcoal or anything is leaking from the filter to the inside of the mask

@@MilitariaReviewed Ye I've owned the mask for a while and already checked if the filters are leaking and everything seems fine and wore it quite a bit but I recently read they may contain asbestos which worried me but basically everywhere else says they don't. So I'll probably continue wearing it occasionally but I'm going to get a forsheda or an S10 so I can use 40mm filters if I need to wear a mask for any extended amount of time

Yeah the chance of them having any is very slim. You should definitely get something that has 40mm threads if you want to wear it regularly though. Much easier to change the filter when you need to as well!

Ever found a rebreather for it?

Does the exhale valve cover on the M10 twists off? Would it be possible to attach a modified hose to it ?

If I remember correctly, the exhale valve cover does not twist off. I have that mask in storage right now so I’m not 100% sure, but I’ll go get it and give you a definitive answer tomorrow morning.

Alright so I checked it and it does unscrew. The metal cover along with a diaphragm and rubber seal are all removable. You could probably screw a hose onto it if you found one that fit the threads.

Are you printing an adapter for the hose? That sounds like a neat idea. Are you designing the parts yourself?

Question: what water bottles do these adapters fit? Naturally I'd want to have one that works with this if I were to get the mask.

The little adapter cap that comes with the mask fits the Czech M60 canteen. You’ll see two types, one with a cork and one with a plastic cap similar to the adapter. Try to get the one with the plastic cap because I believe that the neck diameter on those is larger then the ones issued with corks.

These masks are great for protection against dust and stuff like that. They should be fine against mildew and mold that you might find in an old house as well.

I do not believe anyone has sent these filters to a lab for testing so take my answer with a grain of salt. They are not known to contain asbestos but they may or may not have chromium in them. The chromium would have been a treatment of the charcoal so you will want to check and make sure they arnt leaking. Take the filters and give them a light shake over a piece of printer paper. This would be a good practice even if they don’t have chromium because this type of filter likes to leak charcoal dust and that isn’t good to breath in either.

It really isn't a review when you don't even test it with a toilet refreshener spray to test if it actually could protect you against aerosols
