I am an IGBO man that is married to an Ethiopian lady. My mom have six boys and one girl. She thought us how to cook all the Nigerian dishes! My mom thought us how to complement each other! Meaning that we did not have to wait for your wife to come back from work, cook and serve the husband. I have always cook for my wife and serve her

Nne thank you so much. I've been married for 19years. I came into my marriage not knowing how to cook a thing. My husband cooked for us in the first 5years of our marriage before I took over. Until I started watching your videos few months ago, maybe 5 or 6 months ago, I would cook stare at the pot of food and feel sorry for myself. Good a thing my husband eats it without complaining but deep down in my heart I know he wishes I could cook better. Thank God for you, I started watching your videos and magics started happening in my kitchen. I don't cook a thing without watching at your version of it. Today I proudly serve my husband the foods I cook with high shoulders. It's never too late, if you're willing to learn. That is my story.

My husband's family is from Nigeria. He was born in the USA so he never learn how to cook African dishes. I enjoy his sister's food. After being married for many years I decided I should try to cook some of the dishes. Thanks to the internet and you taking the time to share your recipes with so many other people. I prefer watching the videos as opposed to just reading instructions. Videos can almost guarantee great results. Egusi soup, jollof rice and moi moi are my favorites. I cooked egusi soup tonight following your easy recipe. It turned out delicious. My husband was surprised. Plan to cook jollof rice next. Thank you so much for sharing easier version recipes that turn out just as great. I look forward to watching more of your videos.

Thank you Flo for this tutorial. I had little money on me and I also needed to make Egusi soup so I sought a recipe which required few ingredients and I found yours. I must say that it was the best egusi soup I have ever made(you can ask my husband😋). I discovered that some of the ingredients I used to include before now were not really necessary. They made the taste of the soup heavy. After carefully following your method, the soup came out tasting like the ones grandma used to make in the village when we were young. God bless you for this. I must say that you're really gifted and I like your originality. Keep up the good work, you're affecting lives and homes👍.

🗣Hi Flo, been married to my nigerian husband 40+ years, and have been trying to learn to cook nigerian food for a while, and I'm still not good. Thank God for good Nigerian family friends who regularly supply him with home cooked nigerian meals. I also now love these channels where I can watch young ladies like yourself show us americans how to cook nigerian food. I just happened upon yours today, and already love just some of the topics/things you've mentioned like, not liking oil floating on top of your soup or thruout oily looking. A total turn off. A gag🤮. And all the ingredients added for the so called Nigerian Flavor. Yet they all taste the same, just different ways of cooking it. Then today I happen upon you. Thankyou for explaining all you do and why! Thankyou for showing the process and what the food should look like, or what it may not look like if not done correctly. You are my new best friend in my head. Glad I discovered your 5 ingredients Nigerian Soup, even better!👌🏾❤👍🏾

If only I could give this video a million likes o (saying this in your voice). Nne, I am cooking this egusi soup as I type. This is the second time I'm following this caking method of yours to cook egusi soup, (having followed your frying method more times). Egusi is not one of my favourite Soups 'at all at all' but I cook it very occasionally to have a variety of meals in my household. Thank you for all your contribution on YT to Nigerian cooking. I can always count on one of your recipes, even if I tailor an ingredient or two to my preference. Not to mention you educating us on the science behind how /why some ingredients 'behave' one way or another, topped with your humour and overall engaging personality.

One of the staff actually decided to sit with me and asked if I was Nigerian. He said I wasn't eating it the right way lol. That I should mount the semo with my hand, swallow and not chew. Really found it difficult. We chew all of our traditional meals. So being told not to chew was a new thing to me lol

Flo, I have been ringing your doorbell and you won't answer when you are cooking such delicious food. I just want a small serving of the egusi. Wah! I like your clean kitchen. You are the kind of lady who cleans as you go. Yummy looking even for a vegetarian! For optimum health and precaution, try and use stainless steel, ceramic or glass for your hot meals. Never plastic!
