This soup is known for its rich and nutty flavor and is a popular dish in many Nigerian households and restaurants. In this video I share 3 ways to make Egusi Soup and they are all so delicious!

Well-done SisiYemmie. For the Egusi Ijebu soup, we don't use iru but rather we use Ogiri for it, except if the individual cooking it prefers to use the locust. Majority of the Ijebu people will use Ogiri. Thanks for the video

it does not matter where it comes from. She has already told us there are different ways to make it. Igbos always trying to be divisive. Tell us there are different ways is enough. No one outside Nigeria cares where is actually comes from

Please over the years the use of locust beans has been abused thoroughly to extent that it has lost its original taste, when you use the original iru you don’t need any artificial seasoning for your soups, because the iru itself is enough, but what we have now is washed iru that has lost its local original full of benefits taste, so very bad. It just a pity that this generation will not get to know and taste the original iru.
