    Hello Ruhab, we are going from a (2-) on the left hand side to a (0) charge on the right hand side. Therefore, we need to minus two electrons from the half equation. However, in Chemistry, we usually do not represent electrons as being taken away. That is why it is important you right them on the right hand side as when you take them over from the left hand side, they effectively become positive on the other side. Hope that makes things somewhat clearer.
