Oh HI Shell & Pete!! 😃😊😊😊😊😃 Really hope you are both well, I honestly do and I appreciate you so much I'm taking the time to watch as always! It was amazing to be back out and especially filming again... I have been on a fee adventures here n there and especially day hikes, but haven't really filmed (apart from a few Instagram things) as I wanted to 'test myself' so to speak and see how I got on, what I can & couldn't do etc without having to worry about filming. But 🤞🏻 I'll be able to start to get more footage here and there now and try and get back into the KZread game haha. You should definitely hit up Crinkle Crags and round the area, I can imagine there are some amazing views from there if you're not in clouds 😂 ive definitely got to go back on a clear day! Glad you liked the blooper too lol just had to leave it in. Was in two minds whether to or not or if to bleep out the odd swear word. Hi Joe!! Thanks so much it was amazing to be back out having some great fun with Paul and being able to get back in a tent on the mountains. This seemed like an end goal I wasn't sure of at the start of the year so mad me really happy as I've progressed over the last few months. I've still been out on some day hikes and adventures just wanted to get back out and test myself first before I had to worry about the filming side of things. Hi!! 👋🏻 Thanks so much it really was a fun camp and so great to catch up with my mate Paul, we had a great laugh 😃 The Rab Ascent 900 is superb, especially as these colder months are coming in, will keep you toasty warm. Just make sure you get a corresponding pad with a decent R value for the temperature to stop those ground rising vapours if you're planning on having some frosty camps 🥶😬😁👍🏻 Take care and ATB... I shall have to return... Paul is awesome always have such a laugh when we meet haha. Yeah got the Soulo July last year and had some amazing summit camps in it last year, before things went wrong lol. I absolutely LOVE it such a cool tent, but like you said most of the time you don't really 'need' it, I definitely have piece of mind though higher up should the weather go a bit mental during the night, feel very safe in it in that aspect. Haha thanks!! Was great to be back out with a camera as I havent filmed for a bit, just wanted to make sure I was 'properly' back out. Yeah was loads of fun and some great scramble parts on Crinkle Crags, even more fun with the camping packs 😂 but we did have a bit of everything 😀 Haha glad you like the beard, it's keeping my face warm in the elements lol. Yeah have missed the editing side of things for sure I love doing that and did enjoy filming yeah, but also just love being out there not filming and enjoying it. These last few months have brought me back the love I've had for the last 16 years or do before I started the channel. Will be back out with the camera though for sure! Definitely does help your health and mind 💯% Haha thought id leave the blooper in for a bit of a laugh 😂 and the Rab Ascent 900 is so warm and comfy. Haha thanks Dave! They are awesome tents and the Scarp 1 not quite as expensive. There are some absolutely bangin tents you can get though without spending Hilleberg money. Not sure if you have seen some people using the Terra Nova Voyager lately? Well I know Andrew Beavers and some others have replaced their Soulo with it and it's under 500 so a lot cheaper than a Hilleberg. Might be worth a look at.... The Helm range is absolutely superb though and they definitely hold their own.. I love my Helm 1 and 2 very much! Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment bud 👍🏻 ATB... Chris

It's always great to see other peoples gear I think aswell. I usually show it a little more but was loosing light here even though the phone made it look lighter. Really pleased for you Chris , awesome to see you back out and enjoying what you love. How come you don't use walking poles ? When i was your age they were still a new thing and i used to take the piss out of people that used them but these days i think they are a vital piece of kit especially after injuries or more importantly preventing knee , foot and back problems. Haha you know what, I actually do use them! 😂😂 I didnt use them here with this carrying tripods n everything but the day after did all 8 Wainwright's round the Skiddaw range in 6 hrs 20 mins (says average time is 9 hours so was pleased with that) had my poles with me all the time. You don't have Instagram do you? I was going to say you'll see me on there with them quite a lot especially on day hikes. They are vital for sure and definitely help a lot! I don't care what anyone thinks when I'm out, if they help me etc and will potentially help long term then I'm all for it 😁😁 Take care 🙂 Chris

Hi Joe!! So sorry mate I just saw this comment in my KZread studio section but never had a notification for it!! Anyway, I usually always have a map printed out in various scales of the area I'm going too, even if it's a very familiar area. I lot of places I have been too that much over the last 16 or 17 years so do know the area well, bit not always the exact destination in mind. I do sometimes use Outdoor Active but definitely don't rely on it or any electrical device infact as you can get issues with them. So I do have the map and compass as back ups yes but most of the time don't actually use them. Even if you know a route very well things can change, was on a 26 mile loop in 2021 and about ¾ of the way in a bridleway was closed due to aggressive cows apparently 😳 so had to divert and it took me just over 7 miles out my way. Had to get the map out then to see what other potential routes could be used. Take care mate 😊🙏🏼👍🏻 ATB... Chris

Hi Trev thanks so much!! For my Soulo I got the standard Hilleberg 'V' pegs. BUT I got a pack of 10 Hilleberg 'Y' pegs after that I use as they are exactly like my MSR Groundhogs, same shape, size and weight. So use two of those with my 10 Hilleberg Y pegs. They are a lot better than the V pegs I have found and you get the Y as standard with the Black Label tents. Think they were like £42 or something and they have never budged. As I said though if you didnt want to spend that you may find MSR Groundhogs cheaper. Ive had both in some testing winds and they have been bang on with any tent I've used. I take my Y Hilleberg pegs and Groundhogs for any tent I pitch now 👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks for watching mate and hope you're well. ATB...Chris
