3 EPIC Days Backpacking & Wild Camping in the Lake District
Спорт
SIMPLY STUNNING! Here is my 3 days backpacking and wild camping in the lake district vlog. This includes hiking 11 wainwrights plus setting up wild camp in 2 spectacular mountain wild camping locations. The uk weather was stunning and showcased the lake district national park in all it's glory although backpacking in these temperatures was extreme.
We started our backpacking uk trip in the Langdales, in between the southern and central fells of the Lake District national park. It was hot and humid all weekend which meant the hiking was tough and sleeping whilst wild camping was hot.
Our wild camping spots were perfect and we were so lucky to see beautiful sunrises, sunsets and even a cloud inversion. Backpacking does not get better than this!

Note: my backpacking bag weighed 13kg plus beers plus water so approx 15kg total all-in.

It’s difficult to capture the true beauty of sunsets, sunrises and cloud inversions by photo or video. However, @garethrichardson9806 was wild camping on top of Pike of Stickle with his drone the same time we were up Langdale Pikes. He captured the events perfectly and it’s certainly a video I’ll look back on. If you want to see what it was REALLY like up there check his video out… • Lake District Drone - ...

Great video Andy.. some graft gone into this video. I’m knackered after a Wildcamp so conquering Scafell pike on your 2nd day is some going. That cloud inversion was something else.

It was the boulder fields that really took their toll. You can’t switch off for a second, it’s mentally tiring as much as physically!
Love the way you put the scene in when you were making dinner after a few beers , loved the confusion over water bags 😂😂😂🤙

I still can't get over how long it is! It must be the longest 1 person tent on the market. We really like the double-doors and crossing pole.
Great skills, lovely video, with fantastic scenary. Many thanks for sharing.

That was excellent, I'm amazed that you did that many summits in just one day! It took my friends and I the whole day just to get up scafell earlier this year. Wild camped on the assent and then the decent the next day in a beautiful spot. Your Certainly right about the memories. Thanks for the video fantastic as always.

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t easy 😅 At the end of the day it doesn’t matter how many summits you do, it’s about spending time in our national parks 👍
Great vid Andy 👌👌 Stunning locations loved it. Cheers Graham

@@BackpackingUK yes thank you buddy
Just a minor point, Ill Crag at 935m is the fourth highest in England, whilst Broad Crag at 934m is the fifth highest. Often mispronounced, Scafell was originally known as Scawfell. Although changed on maps today, it’s pronounced as “Scawfell”. You’ve been exceptionally lucky to get such outstanding weather. 👍🏻

I realised when I was editing but I wasn't going back to re-take the video 😂 The description is correct though 👍 To be honest, it's nice for someone not to argue Skiddaw is the 4th highest for once! I'm assuming it was at one time before the technology came in.
Hi I love your videos, and I adore the lake district and next summer me and my dad are going backpacking around the lakes but I need some backpack suggestions that aren’t t to expensive and are good for a 13 year old girl.

I know I have a lot of big branded gear but I kitted Laura out in Regatta gear this year and it’s been excellent, can’t fault it! I guess they make backpacks too.
Could have passes you the last couple of days andy. I came home today from langdale to sthead through to Ennerdale. What a great couple if days weather!

I did a very similar walk last weekend. Saturday was Hard knott, crinkle crags, bowfell, esk pike, great end. Sunday was Seathwaite fell, green gable, great gable, scafell pike, sca fell and slight side.

@@BackpackingUK I find 15km in the lakes much harder than 15km walking around Munros - it's probably the ascent.
Awesome.. Like the new backpack, is it worth the extra money? your friends Nortent looks pretty impressive too.
Great vid Andy. Did pike o blisco and crinkles and camped in exactly the same spot last year during a heatwave. Had hoped to do bow fell same day but too much for 1 day for me with the heat so fair play for your day2! Where did you leave the bikes as I want to do more bike tours but always worry about bike security so end up in the car mostly 👍keep up the great channel😉

There’s a farm in the Langdales where you can’t pre-book but can turn up from 2pm on the day so that’s what we did. Chucked our bike gear in a tent and hiked off!
Hi Andy - I see the Osprey UNLTD is £650 on the Osprey website. What made you pick the AntiGravity over the AirScape please mate? Superb vids by the way. Subscribed 👍

Almost always, but not this weekend, it was still hot and humid at night.
Andy, really enjoying this but might I repeat a criticism I have made before? When you show me the views, panning round etc, I can’t really see the views cos your mush is slap bang in the middle of the screen. Consider putting yourself on the edge or even better, record the scenery without your face in it. You did it occasionally but to often don’t. And it really does make a difference. Still enjoying it… let’s have a few more of these!!👍👍
