Solo Wild Camp In The Peak District UK - High Winds In The Hilleberg Soulo

Solo Wild Camp In The Peak District UK - High Winds In The Hilleberg Soulo
Managed to have a couple of unexpected days off work, obviously had to get a cheeky wild camp in the beautiful Peak District! Took my Hilleberg Soulo along for the ride as the wind was supposed to come in pretty bad during the night.
So, after doing my poll here on KZread asking what you would all like to see next I'm back out on a wild camp as requested by YOU! Back in the fantastic Peak District in a very familiar location. But this time with some cool new gear to test out and a meal that requires no stove at all to cook....
As stated in the video I will leave the links to some of the bits of gear I mentioned and to The Fell Store where I got this 'special' meal from and where I always purchase my meals in any case. Cheaper than the shops and phenomenally fast delivery, usually the next day!!!
Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate your time 🙏
Please consider subscribing to my channel if you are new and love everything to do with the great outdoors, then you can share more hiking and wild camping adventures with me!
Take care
Chris

Hey Alex!! Oh no mate sorry to hear you have the dreaded covid 😒😔 hope you're not to bad with it. Im currently at home too for the last 2 weeks as my back has gone again at work so unable to currently get out. After seeing my private chiropractor who I see anyway, hospitals, x-rays etc I think im hopefully on the road to recovery now....again. Really glad that you enjoyed this video mate and they are giving you some inspiration!! 😃🙏🏼🙏🏼 You should definitely get back out when you can mate I love your videos! Ahh THANK YOU so much for the very kind words and glad you can see some progression 👍🏻 I tried a couple of different filming 'techniques' so to speak in this one and my St Sunday Crag summit camp video to see how people responded and they seem to have liked it so will continue to experiment, but also keep it simple at the same time. Would be so cool if I got to 1000 subs 😁 Ill be back out soon I hope so thank you for your patience in the mean time. I wish you a speedy recovery from covid and look forward to your next video as and when you can 😊 Take care buddy 🤜🏻💚🤛🏻 Chris ✌🏼

@@theheightoflife they are really good points...it's getting that time of year to bring out the trangia and meths which are great but bulky so I am going to look into the heated bags and figure out a way to take my own food with me...started going gluten free of late and avoiding lectins and I feel like I have been oiled but it's expensive and difficult to shop...thanks for the tips ...( Thumbs up ) take care bud .

@@Olan... Ahh sound! Yeah the trangia meth burners or equivalent are awesome, but you're right they definitely take up some room especially with a meth bottle snd wouldn't want to use one in the vestibule lol. Hope you manage to find some food that you like and can use with them 👍🏻👍🏻 Have a good one and thanks again 😊

do you get 2 meals for £10 or is it 1 ? if its 1 then way to expensive if 2 then its a good deal.

I just got the one meal in the box so presume its just the one. It is a little expensive compared to a 'normal' meal yeah. But you need less water, no stove and save money on needing gas to boil the bag. Think you can get the self heating bags on their own somewhere, would definitely be good as back ups incase you wanted to pack very very light on multi day hikes or ran out of gas. Cheers for watching! Take care ... Chris ✌🏼

Hey!! Ahh really?! Cool 😎 They are pretty decent to be fair and I know someone that did the coast to coast snd west highland way routes with self heating bags (used their own meals) Think you can get the bags on their own somewhere so will definitely get some as back ups for either weight saving or incase gas runs out haha. Thanks so much for watching as always 😊🙏🏼 ATB... Chris ✌🏼 🤜🏻💚🤛🏻😘xx
