It's just a regular STANAG mag, like every other AR uses. (I hate Pmags by the way)
The US army actually used a saying during training back in ww2, "a clip is used to load a magazine, and the magazine feeds the rifle" .....even in something like a Carcano/M1 rifle the housing where the clip fits, and the spring that make up the feed mechanism were called a magazine by the designers

RIP to @The85f0X 's wallet. For the birth of a new joy.
Just a minor correction. The Mosin in theory can be loaded in any way. The reason for why you pull the top round up is because in most of the Mosins, the interrupter (a small little tab which holds the rounds in the magazine) is defective or worn.
I can't see my favourite clip! The 14 round clip of the 155mm Bandkanon 1! It came on standardized cargo pallets and was loaded into the magazine of the tracked self propelled howitzer using the hydraulic crane of the ammo truck, replenishing the full 14 round autoloader in less than 2 minutes.
Was expecting a travel montage, but this sure as hell will do!

Me too, I thought it was about the different issues around the world and a clip of each
French Berthiers also use an "eb bloc" clip that ejects out the bottom when you insert the next clip. Of course, I wrote this half way through the video, but the clip ejection is still interesting.

and now the big question. If a belt is a lot of single shot clips, are they legal in states with Mag restrictions?
@COIcultist

Or the other big question. So it has now been determined legally AR lowers don't have enough functions to qualify as firearms and need registering. So when will the non serial numbered ones be available sans BATFE paperwork or posted direct?

I saw a video posted by a Canadian. He had a belt fed upper for one of his guns. And as long as his belts didnt have more than 10 rounds linked on one link it was legal. That was Canada though.

If they are in 10 round belts they are.. But the thing is, the states that have those dumb ass laws usually also have "assault weapon" laws as well
That “guide” that’s used to load a magazine from a stripper clip is called a “spoon”. They’ve been used to load AR mags for years and lots of other cartridges too.

For fun
A magazine stores ammunition (see naval nomenclature), whereas a clip arranges ammunition for insertion into a firearm, often into its magazine. See the fact that some magazines are integral to their firearm, rather than removable. The M1 Garand uses a clip that remains in the magazine until the last round is fired. PING!

Loved the info about clips for certain guns that can be used for other gun. I feel like Eric and Ian from Forgotten Weapons would have LOTS of fun together if they'd collaborate with both of them being old/weird gun enthusiasts.
I love how genuinely amused they were about the mag loader
💥💥THAT 30 ROUND💥💥 💥💥.50bmg magazine💥💥 Disbelief grows
That has to be one of my favorite episodes. Very cool.
I love these type of videos! Appreciate all the effort that goes into producing stuff like this, guys! Keep it up!
Enjoyed this thanks for your time sharing with me
Another awesome video, thank you Eric and Chad!
Fun trivia! Keep these great videos coming! 👍
I love this channel, I don't understand how anyone could give you guys a bad review because your awesome. I'm new to guns and when I was first getting started it was this channel that I mainly looked to for information and understanding. Thank you.
You guys are the best, I've been a fan for 8 years now
Very cool. Thnx guys!
You two guys, I'd have coffee every morning with you both without hesitation. I appreciate all the work you do in putting these videos together. I'm sure you don't have enough thankful comments without some nit-pick trolling issue going on. Just thanks, guys. Keep the level head level.
Very cool episode, enjoyed this, thanks...
Great video, thanks guys! You’ve got big fans, even out here in CA
Holy crap that .50 BMG magazine. You could win an entire war with just one of those.
Clips are incredibly cool. I have a ton of fun loading my 1903 and SKS with them (edit, I don't enjoy loading my Mosin with clips). Wish more guns, esp modern bolt actions, were built with them in mind. Magazine disconnects too!
That is so awesome seeing all the old stuff. It really allows you to appreciate modern firearms. And the evolution of firearms. For me you can't love modern Firearms without loving the classics
really informative video love it, good job guys
Keep the educational/instructional episodes coming gentlemen!!
Merry Christmas Guys. Thank you for an entertaining year
Really good video guys. Alot of info for the old guns. Keep up the good job.
Love this channel .
Very cool and informative video, thanks.
For Chad: Gazpacho has been around since Roman times, at least in its basic form: a cold soup of leftover bread, water, vinegar, garlic and olive oil. Enriched later with New World tomatoes and peppers, it was pounded with massive pestles in a communal bowl to sustain laborers in the fields. Happily, gazpachos have gotten smoother since (gracias, el blender!), though the trick that imparts its velvety texture-soaking the bread in the liquid first-remains fundamental.
Love this video! Do more like these
The 8 m/m French rile was referred to as a Lebel. The Lebel model 1886 had a tubular magazine under the barrel. If you were to examine military issue 8X50R French ammo, you will see a deep groove around the primer. The purpose of this groove was to let the tip of a round to fall into the groove and prevent the tip of the. Bullet from coming into contact with the primer of the round loaded ahead of it.The clip shown was for the Berthier which more or less replaced the 1886 Lebel.Other than that minor error, a great and informative video. Thanks
Great vid thanks
Cool video, very little known fact. Your Enfield clip was made in South Africa. South Africa produced Approx 87% of the .303 ammo used in WWII and tons of stripper clips which were of a sturdier build than the Brit stripper clips. The Brit stripper clips wore out and replaced with SA built clips. Interesting that the drive to obtain scrap metal to build weapons was where the stripper clips most likely ended up.
I found this quite interesting. And would like to see more on the same subject. Keep up the good work. 2A for Life!
The thing you called a “guide” I’ve always heard called a “spoon”. They came in every bandolier I was ever issued. Also, it’s WAY easier to push the rounds in if you hold the magazine in both hands and push against the edge of a table, a tailgate, etc. We used to use Humvee bumpers to load magazines at the range; or if you’re super fancy, you can use your boot to do it.
10:40 Eric's reaction made me happy and today is now a better day lol
Thank you!!!
Very informative video thanks
This is a great video clip!
Had me at 30 round. 50 BMG magazine... Such a tease..
Chads been hanging around coffee shops again.
7:47 There is another gun that does eject a Mannlicher clip and you have to do it manually: the 1888 "Commission" rifle with a clip-on modification to the hole in the bottom of the magazine.

I always love watching u guys I learn so much so thank u
The Breda model 37 actually pushed the round forward, fires it and then pulls the expended cartridge back into the tray! The tray was loaded open side down into the weapon. The gun crew had a reloader that could reload that tray in less than a minute.
great vid fellas.

Wow lots of cool magazines in this video!
Great educational video.
that is one cool idea for a video. clip about clips ;) i hope to see that video about loaders!
One of your coolest "clips" ever. :)
Very informative! Lot of history on the table. Really great to see stuff like this. BTW, I was looking to purchase a Man Can. What is in it?
I've seen a version of the CETME magazine loader for 5.56 at a gun show here recently made out of wood that reloads any AR-15 magazine. Almost bought it, but was strapped for cash at the time. If I see it again I'll get it and show you a picture/video of it in action. Really impressive.
The way you load those clips in to mags. The live demonstration. Is like something from the HSN/GSN network. Hurry this limited time offer is available for $19.95
YES finally, someone was willing to make a video that explains the difference between mags and clips.
Pretty cool stuff! 👍
Those Swedish Mauser 6.5 mil clips are excellent and durable as well. We got cases upon cases of them during one visit to the firing range because we had to get rid of the ammo or it would have to be destroyed anyways because it's best before date was coming up. We saved every clip we stripped because they are re-used with ammo that comes in boxes without clips. Loading the clips as quite finicky though and it's a painstaking process but once they are in clips they are smooth as silk going into the gun. I have a few of them at home (without ammo because i have no license for the gun and thus no license for the ammo) to touch and caress whenever i feel like it. Also, that G3 autoloader would have done WONDERS if we had them during one particular ammo heavy life fire exercise. We were assigned to load all G3A3 mags that were to be used during the whole operation. We were about 8 guys (and two gals) painstakingly loading magazines for the whole company that were out there emptying them like garden hoses once the next round took place. We must have loaded at least 900 mags in 5 hours time. At least!
great stuff
Super super intresting video !!!
Great video idea.
Great video.
I wish I was as excited about anything as you guys are about speed-loading mags. Straight up giddy.
im glad you mentioned the carcano. A round you dont hear of very often
By a vet from the same era as you, we had clips of 5.56 Nato we loaded into the magazines with an adapter. But...we were instructed to use a table top or other surface to push them in. They knew it was hard to feed.
This video was so satisfying to watch...
Cool video, nice to see how to use the clip to load the mag.
The plastic clips are Swiss, for the StgW90 Geco Ammo comes on those clips. Very neat to be used with a MagLula
9:20 There is, the Czech VZ58 has the ability to take 10 round clips into 10 or 30 round removable magazine directly in the gun.
LMAO @ that 30 round .50 cal mag!
A magazine was originally fixed, and used to feed directly into the chamber. A clip was used to load the ammo into the magazine from outside the firearm. Therefore a modern box magazine, which both holds the ammo AND loads it into the firearm, performs task of both a clip and a magazine. Calling it a clip, a magazine, or a clip magazine are all technically valid terms. It combines the functions of both.
good job on the video guy's. I really like the bullet speed loader's.

Almost all my 223/556 is on stripper clips. I have a $10 thermold loader. I love it to death. You don't tilt the top round like I saw you trying. You pull straight down and ever so slightly backward. Hard to describe.

Great information. I've tried to tell people that there are several types of clips out there for different firearms.
Dammmn Daniel back at it again with the white vans
I think it was the Breda machinegun that used one of the tray type magazines that loaded, fired and redeposit the spent brass in the same tray to the disappointment of the gun crew that had to remove them by hand before reloading the tray with more ammo. Jenious!
Beautiful
