Modern Springfield's are not allowed in my house. Sold them all and refuse to buy them again. They provide some nice firearms, but I will not buy them, even they are the best thing out there at the best price. Ruger and Smith paid the price and are back on track, but say no to Springfield.

@19:29 I want to thank Kevin for asking his question. I too, was brought up in a home that was taught to FEAR GUNS. My grandfather was a cop,... so my mom was taught not to go near his revolver and she passed that fear down to me. So,... I too fought anxiety when buying guns,...thinking I was doing something wrong. You are not alone brother. And I didn't even do this or fight this Programing until well into my 50's!! Best of Luck and keep up the good fight.

I knew I was going to carry appendix and I liked the idea of the grip safety. I found out through a friend what Springfield had done and I couldn't support them after that. I in no way condemn anyone who bought or enjoys there products. It's just my choice. I now carry a glock 43 and am very happy with the gun

I was told by an FFL in Kentucky that it is 3 business days not counting the day the paperwork is sent in or the day you can go pick it up no matter what. So on the 5th business day from the exact day you purchased the gun. And it depends on if you have to wait over a Sunday because that adds an extra day. Worked for all 3 guns I was delayed before I got my carry permit. 3 days not counting the first day and the day you can go pick it up.

My girlfriend bought her first gun and she was so nervous and the background check came back delayed because she has such a common name. She got so nervous thinking she was doing something wrong she started crying and wanted to run out of the store. Now she goes into gun stores and handles them like she owns them. By the way her name is Amanda S. You can figure the rest out and why she gets delayed.

On a delayed background check, you could also be dealing with identity theft. Having dealt with identity theft in the past, it was delayed. I have told the dealer when making a purchase that I have been thru identity theft, don't panic, and I am willing to co-operate, even if it means they have to notify local law enforcement. Once a clerk told me he too was a victim and sweats it when he purchases a fire arm.

Guys, first thanks so much for bringing attention to the problem we are having in Oregon with the illegal gun garb Now, here's one for you. I had a delay on my background check. When I inquired why, I was told it was because I hadn't bought a handgun since 1977.( I went total black powder for a long time). Have you ever heard this bologna before? Btw, it went two weeks, and I never got the pistol. I had to go to court to get a refund from the pawn shop. (Don't deal with USA Pawn in Oregon.) They had resold the handgun I purchased.

My advice to Kevin that was raised in a none arms family is to also either take a gun safety class or have one of your friends that has had guns all of their life to teach you as much as they can. As long as you remember the first rule of gun safety which is always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, you'll be fine. Just learn all you can. Us gun owners are all family no matter how you vote. Also look into a politicians policies about guns. I've found that recently most Democrats this day in time are totally against guns. Being a former Democrat it saddens me to see all of the things that they stand for now. My party left me years ago. But also look into Republican politicians too. Some of them are snakes dressed in wool too. Sorry this is so long. I'm rambling now lol

After you mentioned the existence of HB 75 in the previous video, I read the full text. The mandated warrantless arrest, warrantless searches, and warrantless seizures in the original made no sense in the context of the rest of our current state laws. There is now a heavily modified version dated 3/26/2018 in an attempt to pass it out of committee. It removed the warantless arrest and warrantless search part, but not the warrantless seizure part. It was also modified to peace officers instead of peace officers and family. I am in a house district of a representative that has not sponsored or supported either version, therefore am not in a position to help vote the supporting representatives out of office. I can definitely help reelect my current representative. Hopefully you can keep informing people in the other districts to the actual text of the bill and get them to vote.

Another Enfield headspacing concern: The Enfield bolt locks with only one lug on the back of the bolt handle, so the force of the discharge travels all the way down the bolt to the lug before being absorbed by the receiver. The gun has a reputation of having a very slick, fast action bolt, which is true. I have an early fifties Canadian Enfield that I bought new back in the early '90s. The problem is that there is an amount of compression or "spring" along the length of the bolt which can stretch the cases. Some handloaders report short case life due to this springiness, causing incipient case head separation sooner than with other rifle designs. In short, those Enfields that have been fired a lot (or abused), would more likely have headspacing problems than Mauser type actions, for example.

For the guy asking about a shorter throw on his duty rifle from safe to auto and vice versus... give Geissele a phone call. They have a “high speed selector” that gives you what you want. Problem you may run into is they only offer it for certain military groups. Bill Geissele doesn’t want to sell it on the open market at this time due to some proprietary stuff he didn’t elaborate on.

My Enfield was made in 1913 and converted to a bolt action .410 single shot shot gun for riot use in (Ishapur ???)India in 1933 . It's one of the .303 caliber Mark III's that now has a factory wood block covering the magazine well that now only shoots the .410 shotgun shells . It was factory stamped on one side the year it was made in 1913 and on the other side it's stamped 1933 , the year the British military had it converted for use in India as a riot gun . It's a cool gun . And yes , it shoots our contemporary game load shotgun shells . It's heavy as can be tho . I've never weighed it , but if I had to guess , I'd say 12 to 15 or more pounds . Lol I'm not kidding , it's heavy !!!

I really enjoyed the question about the new pro-2a person feeling guilty or anxious about buying guns because of their anti-2a upbringing. I think it's a great illustration about how people can come to the culture of firearms, preservation of liberty, and defense of ones self and family from different places and upbringings. I also think Eric hit the nail on the head when he talked about people feeling they need to be labeled as democrat v. republican. We need to stop caring so much about labels and care more about liberty and the proper role of government.

I have a question, I would like to construct a Walther P-38, it is so easy to find almost every part/component except for the frame. Would it be cheaper and more efficient to just buy one fully assembled? The prices have risen on those dramatically, you use to be able to get a decent one for less than $500....now they are $849-$1,300...one I even seen for $18,000. Would it also be safe to fire red/green tracer rounds from an original Walther? Thank You So Much For Your Time!!! God Bless You!!!

Fun Fact about the first question asked: M+M had crummy US sales, so when the rifle came to Canada, the company subsidized their poor sales by artificially raising their prices on the rifle to gouge Canadian buyers. A few Canadian retailers who ran a pre-order were promised by M+M that they would honor the pre-order price (before it jumped almost $500USD), however they went back on their word and now many Canadian buyers boycott M+M for being dishonest and trying to take advantage of them.

An old colt single action army I think would accept and 1851 Navy grip frame. Can get both in modern replicas, and there's a detachable shoulder stock for $225 at Dixie Gun Works.

You guys don't need to buy, but at least take a look at the Browning x bolt. It's a great rifle that is too often overlooked by people shopping for bolt guns. I have a stainless model in 300wm and it is my favorite rifle. It tames the magnum recoil really well and is very accurate for the price.

Hey Eric and Chad! How do you, in detail, go about purchasing a firearm online and getting it shipped to a FFL? Local gunshops have been very unhelpful in this regard. I'm interested in purchasing a firearm from, say, GunBroker or something similar.

A Tikka T3x or a Varmint in 6,5x55SE or 6,5 Creed with a set trigger.. Later on something like a Leupold VX-3 8-25x50 LR scope with a varmint hunter's reticle unless you want to go Swarovski or Schmidt&Bender or a Zeiss.. Once you go over 2K on optics choose a German or an Austrian one.. And a big ass can screwed on to keep the shots nice and smooth. I went Howa 1500 in 6,5x55SE and never regret it. Feels more solid than a Tikka and the trigger is excellent straight out of the box. Action is smooth as butter just like in a T3 or a Sako even. The rifle shoots way better than I do.

In regards to the delayed background check question: the Brady Bill actually requires that it be legal to transfer the firearm, it does not require the FFL to actually do so. The FFL that I work for has an internal policy to not transfer until we get a response one way or another (something I personally disagree with). Additionally, in regards to submitting your social security number: I was told in training that it sped up the check and helped confirm identity but I have seen very little real world evidence that that's actually true I see people who submit their social get delayed pretty much every day (even to the point that I saw a man with a very uncommon name who submitted his social get delayed, due to the aforementioned policy the check went 30 days at which point it expired, so we ran it again, the exact same thing happened, we ran it a third time, he was delayed again so we transferred the gun to another local FFL who actually transferred after 3 days). That anecdote is just one of many reasons why NICS is completely broken and needs to be trashed as the ridiculous and thoroughly unconstitutional institution that it is.

For kevin feeling anctious about buying a gun . The best way to get over it is to do it as often as possible . Buy as many funs as you can . Need to find a doctor that will write up a prescription and an insurance that will cover your firearm purchases as a medical expense.

One more question, I have a pre 64 Winchester model 70. Was handed down from my great grandpa. My grandpa lacquered the shit out of it way to thick. How would I safely restore it down to original wood? And what finish would you use for it if, it’s still used as a deer popper.
