I got my full dialed lume NY0040 on EBay a few months back on EBay. It has the upgraded 8304 movement with handwinding and hacking. A sweet timepiece.

I think i like the classic NY better. The round markers look better to me. I dont know why.

I’m from the hacking and hand wind camp, l like to set my watch at the actual time. Other than that both are a nice looking divers.

Nice Watches. The 008 comes in 7 varieties with different colored Bezels and Faces, most are limited to 1,000, but the Thai and Singapore versions are only 500 of each, so are quite rare.

I like the classic one. Speaks to me more, probably because of its more unique design. I have the one with the oem metal bracelet which looks and functions great, the only downside being hollow end links.

I love it. It's nice and light with the hollow. Just magnificent. I even bought a spare oem bracelet just to keep in the drawer justin case

i think the movement is important firstly. 2 model has a 8203A . İ'm using NY0040 and i love it so much.

I really do need to stop watching these videos... Have the classic one, love it - and have just ordered the blue Fugu, as a nice addition to my mini-collection. Another sympthom of my addiction ;)) Thanks!

From what citizen said when I emailed them, the ny0040 is still in production but like you said is only available in Germany and Italy. Mine should be here on Friday! I'm pumped, it'll be my first automatic

I got a NY0085-86EE yesterday and love it. A nice small automatic. I hope it lives long, had a seiko x solar chronograph for 2 years and that thing sucked so I had to send it back to Amazon for refund.

Rubbish, NY 0040 I have been in touch and it was made from 1993 till 2004 , now discontinued.

I noticed the bezel insert numbers and markers on the new one have script that is thinner than the old one. Also, the new hand set is nicer than the stubby hands on the old one. They look great side by side!

Will prob get the ny0085 at some point. Shame non of these has a great steel bracelet option. I wish strapcode would make one.

I agree about that. I struggle to find a decent bracelet. The problem is the endlinks on the one I bought won't fit properly

are both cases have same dimension? I am looking stainless steel bracelet NY0040 for NY0081. I hope they're identical. cheers. thank.

Both of them are nice. I like the NY-0080 more. The NY-0040 markers are green, I’m not the biggest fan when the lume is green in the light. I have seen that before.

Nick K I would say the new version. Better lume and hour markers . Both are great 👍

Thanks for the nice video. The comparison is very good. The NY0040 blue navy dial version has a killer look. I have the NY0081 too. It's a nice watch but as you may notice the misalignment between markers and chapter ring is just too much to accept in my view. It's getting like Seiko with all the common QC issues.

I must correct this comparison, they seem the same but they are not, they are two different models, it is not a new one and the other old one, the one on the left has been made for sale in Asia and is the Citizen Promaster Fugu limited edition for the famous poisonous fish, reference: NY0080-12E and in Europe it sells for more than € 400.00.

Of course they are two different models, but they are old and newer generation.

No spare parts since 2011.

Never been a fan of blue lume.

Crown , insert and font, lume and indices are incomparable , ny0040 one step lower.
