The changes don't seem that dramatic. Nice watch but not a "run out and buy" watch for me. Mav's dad, I am thinking about getting in on the Ocean Crawler pre-sale today. What do you think of those watches?

Thanks for featuring these watches - I got my NY0080-12X (lume face) today, I couldn't resist, I love my original NY0040-9E (black dial) but always wanted the lume face version. The watch is as good as it looks on your review. The bezel, however, is a little sloppy with noticeable back play. My old watch is rock solid and is a lot snappier than the new FUGU version. I've emailed Citizen and will wait to see if its a feature or a fault ;o)

Very good review just got the Blue version in today and i really like this watch the size is a little bit smaller and i am a pretty big fellow but i have no problem with that will go good with my collection!

I have the ny004. I bought in the 90's. I still wear it regularly but with a metal bracelet. The original strap it came with fell apart long time ago.

Love the orange minute hand & the blue lume but too expensive since I have already the ny0040...

Any idea if they will make an eco-drive version of this watch. I love the pepsi style bezel

That's a great question. Supposedly they're putting out some really cool new designs this year so we'll see.

Great video, new one looks like the Promaster BN0151 eco drive, but smaller case and automatic. I want one!

Yea I have that bn0151 and it’s spectacular. It makes me want one of these, but I don’t need it seeing that I have the eco drive version.

I spent a premium for the NY 80040, and don't regret it one bit but $500? I can't imagine this watch is worth that

The new indices look like those on the newer Seiko monsters (3rd gen and up). I like that they are thick and larger than previous gen, resulting in better lume. Some reviews say they are painted on, but they look applied to me here? I like the larger handset. The crown is nice improvement and the overall design seems more modern, however, the dial seems more "busier/cramped" if you will. I still prefer the ny0040, which to me, has a more unique design, not to mention the history attached to it. Can't go wrong with either in this case.

Good updates but I thought there should be some movement updates too

Majority i saw selling on ebay does not come with the tank. Just the watch in a typical white cushioned box.

Yeah I noticed that too. Thankfully I got all four of mine from a legit dealer in Singapore. They were fresh from the factory with the tank and all tags, stickers and manuals. I even got the full lume version (NY0080-12X) that you can't even find anymore.

Like that cream dial one.

Where's the Aussie version in red white and blue?

Pepsi and full lum ver is the best, but they are all is fantastic,my pepsi ver on the way 👌👍

Your review was almost your preference models. Why you just do a review and show the difference between two models: citizen ny0080-12e vs citizen ny0040-09e. Show in details, because many people still in doubt which one looks better, classic design, better machine and better value. Thanks again .

Cool watches, I’ve got blue and black in original versions. The price is absolutely, ridiculous though. I’ve bought original NY0040’s for about 140 bucks.

Non hacking mechanism.....kinda disappointed for the asking price. Otherwise these are superb watches ! By the way...do you guys notice that the minute hand stops momentarily if the watch is given a hard shake ? This doesn't happen throughout but only at certain "sections". I wonder if this is normal.

yes it's normal with miyota 82xx series, my ny2300 did the same. doesn't affect the accuracy though.

I have the original NY0040 Promaster and I prefer circular hour markers, as Ezadon says below, I'm not very fun of square indices. For the same reason I like more the Orient Ray II than the Mako II and over all the Triton because... it has sapphire crystal! Come on, Citizen, use it, at least in a limited edition!

They are both hard to get. By both I mean the 004 and the 008.

Do you know if the bracelet from the older version fits on this LE? Or if there's a stock bracelet available from citizen directly?

Hi, this just arrived in the mail (12X) and the warranty card isn't stamped, it has a sticker with a barcode and model number. The retailers name also isn't stamped, just a sticker and I'm worried I just dropped a crazy marked-up $545 on a "replica". Oh, and the tag has a gummy residue where the barcode is. The date changes at 1:00? WTF!?, I'm going to the Citizen store tomorrow but they're just sales people and can't authenticate it, that must be done by shipping the watch to the service center in California. How does your paperwork look?.

Mine is all legit brother. I hope yours isn't fake. If you want to make sure you're getting the real deal I am selling some in my collection that come with all the paperwork, stickers, SCUBA cases, tags, etc.

Naww. You are good. Only authorized dealers can stamp the warranty. All non authorized dealers are the same. Manufacturers produce lots more that AD can handle. Most internet sales are not AD.

MOre like 300 dollars. Limited edition and the bracelet has been upgraded. If you prefer a bracelet like I do I think it's worth it.

They shouldve kept them at 42mm
