Bought one two weeks ago. I'd been considering one for the last two years before I bit the bullet and went for it. Accurate, durable, aesthetically very cool. Definite keeper.

Best watch I've ever owned...you will not be disappointed , quality and price amazing.

As of 2021 Citizen has updated the movement to no. 8204 which is hackable. Still going at 21,600 bpm but it's robust, keeps great time and is still affordable at a prize for about € 200,--.

I've had this watch for a few years now. AMAZING WATCH. Far superior to the SKX in every way. Keep better time than the SKX too. Way better. Honestly, I would rather have the winding over hacking. Who cares if you can hack the SKX if it going to be off 20 seconds within a day?

Just ordered one of these. They are getting scarce. Had one a few years ago and I sold it. I have missed it ever since. It's a special watch.

I am right handed and i love the crown the way it is. I just turn the watch upside down and operate the crown like usual. It doesnt take long the adjust your sight to the upside down dial while setting the watch. And you either dont have to set it that often. But man, the huge comfort benefits of no crown digging in the back of your hand is there all the time.

Or if you wear it on the inside of the wrist, it's pretty ergonomical. I wish they kept the crown at 8 o'clock for their ecodrive version.

Great watch, I have the full lume version on mesh, I love it. I was about to get an skx but every body has one and I want something different, the ny was the perfect answer.

For the price it's unbeatable. I don't agree with you saying that 28k beat movement is better. For serviceability the lower beat is more robust. If a 28k beat movement was installed it would be a lot more expensive.

It is ISO, certificated, and in the past been used as official kit for by the Italian navy, one of main criteria for a professional diver ,is that he needs to be sure that his watch will not stop, therefore he can hand wind for say 20 -40 turns before immersion, non windable automatics cant deliver this requirement, as indeed quartz cant. The whole " certified Chronometer " aspect is not about micro second accuracy , its about ability to perform under under extreme physical stresses , the concertina aspect of the rubber strap is to a allow expansion over the wrist of a diving suit. So with all these comments made, the Seiko is piss poor ,and can only be considered as a toy.

I have this watch and love it. Frankly, I would take Citizen and Orient over Seiko. These days Seiko has dropped the ball.

For some people haven't learn that take off the watches from your wrist for setting is a right way to do so, and the design of left side crown is makes more comfortable to wear as more room between the wrist and hand back.

I have this diver and I love it. Sure glad that I didn't flip it because as you said, it is now difficult to find. In fact, Citizen is predominantly Eco - Drive.

That looks pretty sweet man. I'm not into Citizens so wasn't aware they make this badboy.

This one was my favourite (full lume dial) for a year in daily rotation, a great promaster automatic, thinks it is a great or even better alternative to SKX (bezel aligns perfectly, rounded and more luxury dial markers, handwound workhorse). I am thinking of selling it though or exchange it for bn0150 or 0156 cause I have to reduce my automatics... ;) I am tired of adjusting them... Great review, keep them coming and we ll keep them buying

Hey Bruce you need to check out the new titanium NY0100-50M. Same design as the ny004 with new handset from the eco-drive promaster. All super titanium and beautiful marine dial.

@@folksurvival Surprisingly accurate at just +1 second per day. Only thing I'll say is that although the lume is bright when charged, it doesn't last long. Doesn't detract from the watch though at this price. Grab one if you haven't already.

I own blue dial one. It's a mule. Maybe less classy than an SKX, but more substantial. And for $100 less.

Less classy? I don't know but it keeeps time better than the Seiko SKS and to me it is more important.

They all said that the SKX is better...And they all sold it after they bought the Citizen :D

First automatic i have ever bought. for half a price than the 5kx, skx are even more expensive here in CZ

I wish it had hacking or the eco drive. Already have a SKX007. Don’t want another diver without hacking. I really like the pepsi version of this citizen, and I’m a lefty so 8 o’clock crown sounds good!

They have hacking now on new models but it would be even better if this model had an Eco Drive movement.

The first wrist shot of the Citizen you were already wearing was not sitting to far up on your hand. (Good) The second wrist shot with the subject watch was way to far up on your hand. (Bad) I already have a similar watch (Citizen Prime), so I don't care so much. You can block me if you want, but I will still watch your videos. I like them. Thanks

Beautiful watch and I love how the contour of the bezel integrates into the case. Also, I prefer straps and bracelets from the same brand as the watch itself so I wonder if Citizen has a bracelet that fits this diver that is comparable to the extraordinary bracelet and clasp that comes on the Citizen Promaster Nighthawk. Great review!

The one with the yellow dial is impossible to find .

armando cardenas I have a full lume dial version with golden crown and bezel in NOS condition. Also very hard to come by these days.

Set and forget. Really not meant to be played with every 5min

The only similar thing is they are both divers...

Far superior to the Seiko SKX.

I have both watches, the Citizen is better!!!
