I don’t have a citizen, and my list has already been sent to St Nick , I’m wearing a bran new skx 009 rite now so my citizen will have to wait but that’s a cool dive watch and im a fool for them! Happy holidays my friend be safe!

Cool Citizen I have the original black dial which is a stunning watch that will stay in my collection, I always thought of Citizen as better finish than Seiko.

Nice review of the full lume Citizen! I have a regular (quartz) Promaster diver from Citizen, and it's great.

Great review, got the 12e version, my first Citizen watch. You're right, it wears smaller compared to the SKX but i think it looks fine on my wrist.

I have just ordered the NY0040-09W. And visually, the only difference is the hour markers, that are square on the NY0080-12X, and round on the NY0040-09W, and yes, the crown s different. Same case, same bezel, same chapter ring and same crystal. It's still the Miota 8200-3 movement. I payed €190 for mine on the silicon/rubber strap.

Like it a lot. Lume is great. A question. Where would be the best places for me to sell watches under $500 to thin out my collection to make room for more. Thanks to all for suggestions.

@@Sid-np3hf Nothing now. I will just keep them. Would not be worth the trouble to sell them. Even if I don't wear some of them very often they are a collection and only a few of them are disappointments. Thanks for the response though.

I wish these weren't limited editions.

I bought the black version a few weeks ago. I didn't like the rubber band at all, so i have put it on a bracelet. Really cool watch and i got it for 190, which is a bargain imo.

Got mine a few weeks ago and love it! I put a Bonetto Cinturini rubber strap on it an it looks even better now imo,, the citizen straps are the only down side,, not very comfortable. Merry Xmas Rob!

That's a very nice watch. I love the full lume face. I own a ny0040 and love it. I really love the crown at 8 o clock even though some people hate it, I don't know why.

Is the rotor noisy?

I DO like this a lot - it’s original, rugged, good looking - very well made. If only they chucked in one of their newer movements and a decent bracelet - as it looks much better than a Monster or SKX - and looks better made overall and it’s original - id rather this than ANY homage

The hands look so much more legible than the ny0040 full lume. The handset in the 004 gets lost in the dial.

Seiko dive watches is the brand that get mentioned most of the time in Japanese watches product. And Citizen product always seen as "number 2" or cheaper grade. Personal I find that they may have a different formula (materials, technology, design...) but the quality of both seems too close to call..

is the lume long lasting? or is it glow like that for 15-30 minutes only?

Worth it for the lume. I love the blue and black dial versions but this one (in daylight) does not do it for me.

Damn. Doesnt hack. Im too ocd for watches that dont hack. had to get rid of my skx for that exact reason. I also set my watch perfectly every morning. I have issues.

I have no idea if to buy it with chinese automatic movement with only date complication OR with Seiko vk63 meca quartz movement with Chronograph and date complication. It's the same watch different movement and the meca-quartz is about 10 dollars cheaper

@@eliransabak1447 Buy the one you like more. Dont get caught up in the mechanical vs quarts crap. The watch community is full of snobs. In real life nobody cares about what watch you have on your wrist. Personally the meca quartz sounds nice. I have a thing for chronographs.

@@FourThreeSeven honestly if I'm buying a Chinese homage the last thing I care about is those watch snobs . A watch is a watch and without the history the big old brands has no sane person would pay over a $1000 for a watch. I just got a Seiko samurai srpc93 and nobody I know cared because most people see emperio armani as a quality watch. Anyway check this homage the name is didun design ironically

But the lume doesn't last long....

It's a limited ed. but non a nice watch at all, the regular ny0040 is much better. The dial in particular.

The movement is a pile of crap, dont spend your money on this watch, loom does not last, im returning mine! The crown has no protection, and this watch scratches easy!
