That's how Western news works these days. Syrian kids playing in the street, back to normal, they don't report because it makes them look bad for supporting the revolution that caused that Civil War. The News used to be about positivity, what USA did well, what Russia did well, what Germany did well, Japan, UK, China... Now it's just a 24-hour loop of doom and destruction and politics, propaganda. It's depressing.

In fact, every important decision in China has been prepared as early as 20 years ago or even earlier. They are down-to-earth and are advancing step by step according to their own plans. China does not want to compete with anyone. He was just playing against his previous self. Because they know that there is still a big gap between them and the United States.

@Shen Hu EXACTLY They only care about cutting taxes and have championed the cancelation of scientific programs such as the supercollider, even if they were near completion (venture star). For them to turn around and panic about others catching up to US tech with the EU and China being both set to surpass it, suggesting that the solution is to somehow stagnate the rest of the world or to completely undo regulations to allow for "new" tech that was once banned due to the danger or harm it posed to the general population is pathetic. If they were really worried about us tech not being left behind they'd accept to have some tax cuts revoked so we could fund NASA and public scientific megaprojects like we did in the space race.

it's the same cheer style. The media just cut the clip before launching in China and the one after launching in US to show they are different people.(imply one group has more humanity than the other one, this is western media, how they play the politicals, and that's also why more and more people think they are fake media). They are parties after china's launch, the engineers and scientists high five and congrats each other, waving hands and even drunk a lot. Glad I learned English when I study abroad. I made lots of friends in US (they are ordinary people and really good people, not the political style. We BBQ a lot in Texas). So I am wondering how those evil media come from.

they didn't show the cheer clip for China engineers and scientists. Just replay some stupid politician sitting together in china, (and they didn't show the stupid politician in US too, but the great engineers and scientists celebrate.). the same thing happened to the 'out of control' rocket by China in western media, the reason why it's out of control because it successfully delivered the core part of the space station. And 99% of NASA rocket would do the same thing, and SpaceX did more. don't trust your media, also lost os china people already know don't trust the polictical owned media. Do you think the media you rely on is not political owned?

Lol “not much progress in the last two decades”? There has been tremendous progress. You can’t just jump to the next planet days after the moon. They need to study the terrain, atmosphere, composition, trajectories, amount of fuel/food people will need, the health on their bodies and the machines, come up with countless emergency plans, write unbelievable coding into the computers, find the right astronauts who can survive this trip, test every inch of these plans out multiple times… They figured most of that out which is A LOT of progress. This isn’t my pride getting away when I say this… but China didn’t have to do as much of this testing as the US did because China has taken the progress made by the USA and NASA and used it to skip forward. They even said it in this video, NASA is an open source which yes they take data from. & everyone knows of the theft of technology they get caught with all the time. 🤷🏻 The US is decades ahead of every other space program in the world.

It remains to be seen how much of the knowledge it gains will be shared with the world, but this has potential to bring us closer together as a species. I hope we'll see a future of cooperation and friendly competition come out of this, in much the same way that the ISS has helped the US and Russia maintain a working relationship despite ongoing political tensions. Science is a human endeavor not belonging to any one nation.
