we gotta stop making it so easy to scam kids specifically, seriously this has to be bad for them familywise or developmentally. social media is so centralized and monopolized and monetized but simultaneously so wildly unregulated considering age ristriction on the internet is basically unenforced. it’s a breeding ground for chaos and inequality

Creating or buying into some kind of MemeCoin, hyping it up and getting your followers (who are often children and may be people in not great financial situations) to buy into it, and then waiting until it peaks and cashing it all in while leaving them out to dry, seems kind of...like, evil?

NFTs are just reskinned art money laundering but digital lol.

I don't think anything will ever top CSGO Lotto as a scam. The fact that Syndicate and Tmartn were pretty well respected at the time and deceived fans into thinking they just stumbled upon the website, when they in fact were co-owners of CSGO Lotto was wild. They used their own platforms as some of the biggest content creators in gaming to draw attention to a gambling website that they made money off of without letting their association with it be known. Syndicate and Tmartn took advantage of their fanbases in the scummiest way possible. Lowkey they're S tier scammers cause they didn't even get jailtime.

My favourite celebrity scam is the one from FaZe Clan that got people expelled, where it turned out the mastermind behind it was Sam Pepper. The butt pinching prank guy from Vine. It was like a supervillain reveal from a comic book movie. Like Hydra hiding inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Coffeezilla interviewed a developer that "stole billions of dollars in NFTs by right-clicking" and his comments are similar to yours from like 6:45-7:20. It's so unclear what, if anything, is actually owned. It's a perfect environment for scammers to thrive because even the people that know what's happening don't fully know what the hell is happening.

NFTs are just URLs they're not even the file on the other end. Whatever server is hosting the file on the end of that link is the actual "owner" it's a scam and people who buy NFTs are buying absolutely nothing. Oh but maybe they can fool someone else into buying that nothing from them.
