Muhammad and Jerry, two playful "shit disturbers", both have game and respect each other, Jerry was one strong willed tell it like it is guy and he ran into another just like that/him, a young Cassius/Muhammad...it sort of reminds me of a hot tempered and fly off of the rail's friend of my brother-in law, one time when we were going to work, in the car in the underground parking (he was the older of us), and he freaked/flew off the handle at me, like he was apt to do at times with people (temporary temper flare ups, but generally a great and gregarious guy and by the way, RIP to him...no, I had nothing to do with it!!!!!), and usually I'm really shy etc. and might have taken it, but with the good amount of pride/confidence in me, I started yelling right back at him, like an umpire and baseball manager, I didn't like the disrespect/attack and no matter what his reputation, I didn't take it, and he stopped yelling, looked at me after a few seconds, realized what was happening, that he wasn't going to "overthrow/power me", and just said...lets go!!! lol

So easy to make people believe what you want them to believe. And the performance that these two put in 50 years ago is still fooling people today. Amazing

Hello friends. This is one of the most superb collaboration by Ernest and Alamanno.. two champions at their craft. Alamanno choice of picture visuals he used in my SAHARA are extremely well chosen with perfection over the superb playing of Ernest guitar that represents a very lamentful distant deserts .. My thanks to you both for this treasure in music. 🍷Maurice
Float like a butterfly, sting like a fuckin' bee!!! Jerry PUTZ Lewis!!!

Sweet man😍
I love Jerry Lee Lewis’s laugh. Jerry like to play. He spit water in merv griffin’s face.
One of them was amongst the most talented at what they did, the other one I’ve never understood his popularity, about as talentless as one gets..
God he was inspiring! If only I weren't completely uninterested in boxing or boxes in general, for that matter.
You can see Ali can create a great chemistry with everybody...this was the same bond cosel-ali in the making only difference is that jerry didn't stay long enough to let it happen

It was mostly cancelled because the producers hired a stage and film comic to do a two hour live talk show. That's going to be an "insufferable bore" (but I think you meant boor) no matter who it is or how you cut it. Oh, that's right. You can't cut it, it's live.

It's also worth noting that Lewis' spots, guest hosting the "Tonight" show had been extremely successful and one of the reasons the networks were in a bidding war to give him a show like this.

@@MrMZaccone True, but Jerry was such an awful host that a guest as amazing as Ali was not enough to save this show from Jerry's awkward manner and response to every sentence that came out of Ali's mouth. I'm cringing just watching it!

@@MrMZaccone Fair point. If this was, say, the Dick Cavett show or Firing Line with William F. Buckley, I could see an audience wanting a more examining discussion. But this was a show much more similar to a Tonight Show format. The audience reaction (and lack of reaction at times, especially to Jerry) confirms this.
Ali came down those steps to the table like he was ready to fight.
I want to know or hear Jerry's response to ALI DOING OF SUNNY

Jerry Lewis hated doing talk shows! Make your positive or negative comments, say what you will about these 2 they are both entertaining and they both made us think over the years and they both deserve respect not everyone is going to love either of these guys but no one watch this can deny they are a success as for Muhammad Ali, he is in my opinion not a perfect man, but is regarded as one of the most respected and loved.
Ali best!!

You Tube has been great for a lot of show business people from yesteryear, but not ole Jerry. The more I see of him the more he seems like a total jerk. Absolutely full of himself and he actually makes my skin crawl.
MAYBE THIS INTERVIEW IS WHY CASSIUS BECAME A MUSLIM?
Jerry was clearly being patronising and condescending. Muhammad ali held it down so well

Lewis seem to show some feminine characteristics during this interview. I suspect he was gay or bisexual
Jerry Lewis joked about D-Day less than 20 years after it happened, 9/11 jokes are good to go I guess.
Muhammad and Jerry, two playful "shit disturbers", both have game and respect each other, Jerry was one strong willed tell it like it is guy and he ran into another just like that/him, a young Cassius/Muhammad...it sort of reminds me of a hot tempered and fly off of the rail's friend of my brother-in law, one time when we were going to work, in the car in the underground parking (he was the older of us), and he freaked/flew off the handle at me, like he was apt to do at times with people (temporary temper flare ups, but generally a great and gregarious guy and by the way, RIP to him...no, I had nothing to do with it!!!!!), and usually I'm really shy etc. and might have taken it, but with the good amount of pride/confidence in me, I started yelling right back at him, like an umpire and baseball manager, I didn't like the disrespect/attack and no matter what his reputation, I didn't take it, and he stopped yelling, looked at me after a few seconds, realized what was happening, that he wasn't going to "overthrow/power me", and just said...lets go!!! lol
Clay was an articulate, well mannered, fine-looking athlete... obviously before Elijah Muhammad poisoned his mind and Soul..
Lewis disrespected Ali in opening monologue, c'mon now. Lewis never recovered after uttering his 1st words.

Amazing follow this channel
It's obvious to me that these two worked out their back and forth ahead of time. Yet most of these comments below demonstrate that the people watching this video are fooled all these years later. You can tell by the body language and eye contact between the two of them that they were just having a ball. If you read the comments it will tell you why marketing scams are so successful. So easy to make people believe what you want them to believe. And the performance that these two put in 50 years ago is still fooling people today. Amazing

You cannot put Johnny Carson and Jerry Lewis in the same book much less the same sentence. Carson was a gracious host and made his guests looks great. Lewis just blew his already inflated ego more.
Ali should have knicked his ass out.
No,no Gerry you are no where the greatest comedian of all times..I never found Lewis funny ...Jim Carey who had that animated comedy style was way way way more funny than Jerry's Lewis. Lewis looked terrified of Alli. Alli knew that the chemistry was bad between them and he just played with Lewis ... Time is the greatest litmus test. Alli was seen as a mouthy fluke at this point..They thought he would here today and gone tomorrow.. Every white guy with a Mike was telling Alli to 'shut your mouth, a minute ' By the mid 1970s , after he beat Foreman and Frazier..no-one was telling Alli to shut it.. If the interview occurred in 1975, Jerry's wouldn't be telling anyone to 'shut his mouth.. Jerry's would have shut his mouth and listened.. RIP GRANDE CHAMPION.
