You gotta wonder...how many of those questioners were "seeded" in order for Clay to be so ultra-responsive?...also, seeing those two extremely talented individuals onstage was amazing!...and why were so many in the audience so very young?...strange, almost surrealistic [resemtatopn!

In that era, most of Clay's fans were either black or young and white. Older white folks usually didn't like him. I loved him but my dad hated him, for example. You've got a good question though. I think in settings like this questions are often seeded, as you put it. Maybe they did it for devious reasons but maybe not. I should think it's a good idea to have some pre-arranged questions ready, say for every third or fourth audience member, to be sure a guest like Clay, who was very knowledgeable and had interesting opinions about a lot of things, would be able to talk about more than just current news in the boxing world.

You are a bald-faced liar. Clay beat Doug Jones by a unanimous decision....it may have been a relatively close fight compared to the knockouts that Clay's prior opponents had suffered, but Jones loss was clear and apparent. The fact that you scream your lie in all-caps like a rat caught in a trap still doesn't make it so. Funny how dummies do that, as if doing it will make it so, lol.

This is not the "Tonight Show" as it is past 1960 (Steve stopped doing the show in 1957). It is probably his syndicated late night show that ran from 1962-64.
