I use dish soap for stripping old waxes/coatings, after that I wash it with ph neutral car shampoo. Then I apply new wax. Has worked for me, but dish soap is not definitely for regular maintenance washing. Haven't tried it with foam cannon yet, looks fun tho.

The blow dry was a nice touch. Of course the car wasn't dirty. Point noted about "stripping grease of the car" because the wax also comes off. So no more dawn for me, unless right after comes a rewax (which is a make work project). If it affects clear coat, then it's pointless to use it. Thanks for the info!

I'm not seeing the logic here. Most people using Dawn don't even wax. But if they did, it wouldn't remove the wax. That is a wives tale. Waxes and sealants are much more durable than you think.

If you have a matte finish on your vehicle its the best soap going for washing the surface and of course it's cheap. Course the makers of the expensive stuff don't want you to know that. as long as its got a pretty neutral or alkaine ph7 and above its gonna work great on matte.

  • @STATUSDETAIL

Why do you have day old water spots? Real water spots require acid based water spot removers. Like carpro spotless. That only happens when washing with high mineral content water from your hose. Or nasty water from like leaking water from a parking deck that's concrete Try gyeon foam or Carpro lift. But this is your second comment and you seam to like dish soap so anything I say probably won't change your mind. I recommend you use what your comfortable with 👍

  • @STATUSDETAIL

@@azraell33 I think we have different ideas of what a true water spot is. A car with ceramic sealant or wax or ceramic will bead water. If it rains you will typically see what your describing as water spots. Basically any soap will remove this. "Water spots* by my definition are mineral deposits from hard water and are not washed away easily or at all. Your simply talking about dirt that dried after a water drop evaporated. Either way if your foaming with dish soap and rinsing and that's your only process because you think your dish soap is superior then god bless. You have a system i guess. This video isn't designed to change the mind of a person like yourself that clearly has a system they enjoy. It's for people that don't have a system in place and need help setting one up. I don't recommend dish soap. Thanks for watching 👍
