    Can you gelp me out with the steps required before maintenance coating with EXO? I already ceramic coated it last year and want to do the maintenance coating. Just wondering if it’s just a regular wash and panel wipe? Iron remover, clay bar? Thanks in advance.

  • @STATUSDETAIL
    @STATUSDETAIL6 сағат бұрын

    If the paint feels as it did when it had fresh ceramic then you will wash. Gyeon Prep. Apply. If it feels really gritty like sand paper then likely needs clay. If you see it in build up use some iron decon. If you have some light swirls a fast light polish will act into od like mild clay and also remove light swirls. Especially after polish id apply heavy coat of exo. Using a string soap like Gyeon foam or carpro lift at strong dilution is a good idea. Products like Gyeon restart can be helpful too. I hope this helps!

    Just about every car I do every week is this expensive. This car has two ways of shipping included. I don't make money in the shipping. Car owner pays the shipper we recommend direct. No commission to me. But that's the total for the "detail" due to no shipping means no total transaction. Clearly I'm charging the correct amount my next opening is in July

    I was initially so certain that I wanted to fully PPF my car, but this video has really prompted some reconsiderations on how best to pursue my car's detailing. I have a 2022 Porsche Taycan 4S in Neptune Blue, and the previous owner had a partial PPF on the front of the car. There's also still the small strip of factory PPF on the sides. I am very nit-picky and a closer inspection reveals the same dirt in the glue - just as highlighted in this video. I watched reviews of PPF over the years, and Suntek seems to consistently come out on top. But now, I am considering taking advantage of the previous owner's PPF, and just have a clay bar treatment & professional paint correction done. Also, will a ceramic coating maintain / enhance the shine? Ultimately, I care MOST about having that shiny gloss / showroom shine on the car. That is my top priority, and I'm not sure how maintainable that is if I fully PPF the car - considering it can't be polished afterwards. It's been a difficult decision and lots of back and forth on how to pursue the detailing. Although my car is garaged, where I live, the roads are notorious for being rough and prone to constant rock chips, making me lean towards a partial PPF just in the front - still not sure. I need to learn more about the effectivity of paint corrections because I do not want to spend money on a new PPF film every 3 years just to get rid of chips. I also do not plan on selling the car anytime soon, intending to keep it for at least 10 years. After watching several videos of yours I'd love to have my car taken over to you in Illinois, despite living in the Massachusetts area, and despite your waitlist. Your meticulous attention to detail, care, and effort invested in every car - as if you're working on your own vehicle is immensely commendable. Thank you for the great info, and I'd highly appreciate your professional advice!

    Good information. There is definitely a lot of confusion and murkiness in the water when it comes to quick detailers. The problem is that most of them are just watered down product of something else that particular company sells and they then market it as a quick detailer. What's your holy grail of quick detailers? I still swear by Griot's Speed Shine and also their Ceramic Speed Shine. That stuff works well as a final buff or spruce up product!

    @joevanseeters287313 сағат бұрын

    @@STATUSDETAIL Thankyou for your response and also your answers. That is very helpful. I have yet to try Gyeon Cure but every detailer that uses it, swears by it. That's the next topper on my list or "drying aide", whichever you want to call it. Sealant or Coating "extenders" I guess is the correct term now days. One that I really like lately is NV Car care Nova JET sealant. That stuff is incredible. Very hydrophobic and can be used on all exterior surfaces and leaves great durability. I use that every so often along with their LUSTRE and then maintain it weekly with NV Car Care BOOST. Then I hit it again the following month with JET. You can literally keep it going forever probably if you didn't need to polish every year or two in between. Very good combo for a person who doesn't want to put a ceramic coating on their vehicle but want the gloss and hydrophobics of a coating. You just need to apply it more often than a coating but I am ok with that because I like working on my sports car anyway. Now for a daily, ceramic coating all the WAY!

  • @STATUSDETAIL
    @STATUSDETAIL8 сағат бұрын

    @@joevanseeters2873 One of the great pros of PPF. If you have a nice system for maintenance and washing and you basically can keep a hydrophobic ceramic state on a car indefinitely. And if you're treating the film right it really shouldn't stop self healing ever unless you're relying on that factor and then it's doing it too often to the point where that effect can wear off. Having a great maintenance system and some kind of ceramic base wax or sealant to reapply is crucial. Lots of great products out there I'm sure many of which I'm not even aware of. All you have to do is find what works for you and stick to it 👍

    This is what I wish I can do with my IT business, but its hard to find a high end clientele in my industry. When we do voice and data wiring, I want to make sure everything to looks aesthetically pleasing, but people really don't want to pay for it, they would normally just say throw a shelf and plug it all up. Than the ones who can pay normally just bid the jobs and they normally want it immediately. My business is very tough in my state, very little loyal customer regardless of how good your job is.

  • @STATUSDETAIL
    @STATUSDETAILКүн бұрын

    Maybe try and showcase what you can do. Like in a KZread video or shorts or reels. I'm sure there is a market for that kind of work. You might not have enough customers in your ZIP code to fulfill that business so you might need to travel but if you charge enough and the job is expensive enough then you could do it literally anywhere in the world as long as they cover the travel. Most detailers would never dream of getting a customer from out of state. And to be honest my business started out never even thinking that would be a thing. But but now it's completely normalized for my business and that's where the majority of the income of the business comes from. So you never know. I definitely encourage you to chase what you do and find the most passionate and then try and show that to the world and other people will probably find those videos and want to do business with you. Best of luck 👍 Whenever I build my crazy status HQ I would probably want that kind of stuff done in my business.
