How to get MORE FOAM from your Foam Cannon | Car Detailing Tips and Tricks | Pressure Washing
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I get asked all the time how i get so much foam out of my foam cannon. Alot of people complain about it being too watery especially when they are using a lower Gallons Per Minut ELECTRIC pressure washer. Most foam cannons are rated for high GPM units, but this one little trick will make even the cheapest pressure washer and foam cannon spray thick foam!

I use hot water when I mix my soap in the canon. Not boiling, just hot from the kitchen sink. It really helps make thicker foam that stays on longer.
@koreywilliams4570
Жыл бұрын
I wonder why that works. The water coming from the hose is pretty cold.

Soap is half oil. Hot water increases viscosity of oil

lowers viscosity* Basic physics, the hotter a fluid, the lower its viscosity will get.@@Mrkevi123

@@Mrkevi123 hot water would lower the viscosity. Think about warming up butter, butter is also oil but when you heat it up it liquifies and has movement. Higher viscosity means it has less ability to move/flow, just wanted to throw that out there for everyone. I'm not sure that's the reason why it creates more foam, just my two cents
I have watched so many detailing videos for the past 2 years because I love detailing and I have never ever seen a video like this that explains and shows how to get all that extra foam without having to buy a $100 gun. You gained a new SUBSCRIBER man great job 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Agree with you. Been trying to do this with much more expensive guns to no avail, but nice easy simple!
Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use kzread.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall. The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
The one thing every foam cannon reviewer on KZread has been leaving out! This was so helpful bro, I appreciate it.
Thanks for the great tip! This is a game changer for me. I have the same cheap foam cannon and chemical guys soap. Usually the foam runs off so fast, I’m rushing with my detail brush. Just ordered the orifice and can’t wait to change it out.
Josh, you’re my detailing Hero! Honest and Helpful!
Very helpful. Thanks for taking the time to make this. Haven’t tried it yet but I changed out the orifice first before even trying the cannon!
Just found you in suggested and subscribed. There's a lot of obscure things no one talks about so it's good to see you doing so. Good luck on your growth!

Thanks so much!!! Really appreciate it
You are the only person who has ever talked about this. There might be others out there I personally have never seen a video like this before yours. I have seen people who complained about the foam coming out. They try to make adjustments and even changing their soap. After seeing many of those types of videos I wasn't sure if I would have the same result so I just decided to pass on it. After seeing this I'm most definitely going to buy one. Thanks for the useful information. I always make sure to leave a big old thumbs up when I watch your videos. And I have already been a subscriber just never saw this video. Look forward to watching more of your videos.
HOLY CRAP, just followed the 2 big tips ... the brass fitting and water to soap ratio and LIFE CHANGING just WOW, it took me longer to set up everything than it did to do a wash and granted no detailing but i'm washing a Tundra CrewMax with a Smart Cap, THANK YOU !!!!
Just subscribed. I am a non-professional detailed of my own cars. It’s refreshing to see someone use equipment that doesn’t cost hundreds or thousands of dollars to get excellent results. Thank you!!!

I never knew what I was missing with the larger office! Just ordered the 1.1 and can't wait to test it out!
I’ve always wondered how to create that much foam in car washing but with this video, everything is clear now. Thanks for the info man.
i know this is a late post but, just been trying to watch a lot of videos since you explain a lot of important things. ill be investing in a Ryobi PW and because of this, its making me more and more excited to get a PW of my own since my main method of washing was rinseless/hoseless washes so thank you for all that you do!
2 years later and this video solved my problem! Thank you.
Thank you. The channel is steadily growing. Congratulations!!! 🍻

I would be careful with Chem Guys soaps because while their descriptions say it doesn't strip wax, reading the comments will give you the exact opposite impression.

Thank you, Josh. This tutorial improved my car detailing. I finally got shaving cream foam from a very cheap Amazon foam canon. I changed the orifice, got good foam and my regular power wash (Costco Spyder - 2000 psi, 1.2gpm). I added a short gun and that is it. The result is amazing. I wish I could upload videos here.
dude... DUDE.... thank you! This is precisely the kind of info I scour KZread to find. It's the tips like these that make all the difference.

New subscriber. Starting my mobile car wash business and I’m learning from your videos. Thank you!
Awesome video. Everything else suggests getting a better cannon, or adding a ton more soap to the reservoir (wasting products and $$). I didn't realize it could be this simple of a solution. Thanks a million!
Great video Josh, thanks. I went and bought a set of the smaller bore 'orifice'. Great! I went to get the ptfe tape that came with my cannon only to find that there was one in the small seal bag that it came in. No biggie, just a note to the wise, check your own supply before you buy...lol
Thank you so much! This combined with the hot water trick from the comments gave me extremely thick foam! Now to make the supply last longer....
and from the girls in the back.... I never thought I'd be interested in something like this, but you have taught me SO much! My husband passed away, and it's just so nice to learn this kind of thing so that I can do things without calling 1 800-handyman! You gained a female subscriber that can't wait for your next how-to- video! Thank you!
Excellent video and I'll have to try this once I get up and running with my setup. Thanks.
I never new about changing out orifice dimensions and quick connects, uberflex hose, snub nose stubby pressure washer gun. I always used the stock crap in the box, i totally trick myy pressure washer tfff out now, appreciated my dude, salute
Great video. Thanks. Very informative and easy to follow.
Appreciate all of your videos. I learned a lot very fast. I bought the Costco Greenworks pressure washer for $149 and love it. Thanks.

Super helpful vid. I had no idea where that orafice went. Thx.
Bravo Zulu…this was so helpful man!
That's really clever, great to the point advice 10 out of 10
How could you dislike this? The video was straight to the point & perfectly illustrated the difference a quick mod can make to your foam quality if you're using a pressure washer with low GPM. Can't make everyone happy I suppose 🙄 On a side note, that Ryobi sounds exactly like a Karcher. I wonder if the motors are the same 🤔 Subscribed!

It cracks me up all the YT videos of buffoons spraying "foam" on their cars. Runs clear of the first panel before they even move on to the second. Then they do these stupid azz before and after shots as if their runny soap actually did anything. This guy here is making the real deal.

Great video, it would be even better if no changes were made to the foam cannon knobs after the orifice swap, especially since the top knob controls how much water comes through the nozzle. Shoot foam with stock cannon, change insert, shoot foam again. See results, no setting changes.
Legend is you. No one else. Thanks brother. Peace out \m/
