    S.C. U.M. I agree. I’ve listened to Joe Rogan, he’s not funny but entertaining. But Joe enjoys giving himself the label comedian so that he can get away with saying non-pc things once in a while. Joe is smart and entertaining, and he has a good sense of humor, but he’s not a comedian.

    Top five really? Have you been to one of his shows? He tells years-old jokes and his stories are more accidentally amusing than constructed word for word to be funny. His shows don't sell out particularly quickly, his specials are not especially popular. If I were going to name the top five comedians active today, I'd start with Chappelle and Louis CK and then maybe Ali Wong and Kevin Hart. There are a ton of great comedians you could fill out that list but to say that Bill Burr "easily" belongs at the top is a hard sell dude.

  • @lukawijk

    @lukawijk

    3 жыл бұрын

    ss l you lost me at “Kevin Hart”. Just because he sells out with his cheesy, can-see-the-punchline-from-a-mile-away comedy, doesn’t make him “great”. I have never once laughed out loud at anything that came out of his mouth. And btw, his jokes are based on stereotypes that have been so done and hashed before, it’s insane. To compare Burr to him or even Ali Wong, it’s just wrong.

    I think Joe picked up on that quite obviously. He's just presenting the other side of the story. Burr's acting a little bit like an elitist here. But who better than Burr to do so. It's a great point though. A special used to be special, now it's more or less just another advertisement for your name. But since Rogan could give less to shits about advertising his name out there, he does't necessarily think of it that way. As he mentioned, it's mostly still about entertainment for him.

    I think Rogan does not know how to tell Bill that what he is complaining about is what has made himself (as Joe Rogan) so successful. After all, why come on the Joe Rogan podcast and feature your views and opinions for free to 1 million plus subscribers, if it isn't for the fact that its an opportunity to further echo your own name and brand, aka "advertising". At the end of the day, there are a lot more specials, a lot more content, a lot more competition and thus cream rises to the top and Bill Burr is unhappy he is floating somewhere in the middle.

    Sam Shaker I definitely agree with you, I would say it’s more so the gang of guys that Rogan has made famous that Burr is referring to more so than Rogan himself, but Rogan isnt far off, and Burr definitely deserves to be held way above that group, but Comedians on Netflix are just crabs in a bucket at this point...only a guy like Burr and a few others don’t actually need Netflix

Kus he says that and then we do the meme with what they say on JRP as their middle name.... *drool dripping out of mouth* In all seriousness, I wonder when this will, if ever, be on meme review. It’s a classical text meme. Not a video meme. There a KZread niche for someone looking for a good ideas. A channel based on ranking/rating classic memes. Like political satire cartoons, play-on-words, stuff from old print media. As I sit and ponder the meaning of memes, it’s difficult. I think of memes as flowers. Memes are to language as flowers are to nature. Difficult to explain the difference between a flower and other plants. But, you know one when you see one and it makes you smile. Go forward, in peace. there were a lot of white acts because the us like most western countries are mostly 75%+ white people. Just because in cities thier are more black people or ethnicities, things generally follow the population percentages reasonably well. The disparity is what people see in a city to like LA or New york and then the actual amount of white or black people. for example theres probably an over population of black people in many sports and then not in others, we cant equalize out for disparity, you can only encourage all to do their best.

One side leads directly to William Shakespeare, the other leads to peasants who emigrated to the US and became Mormons in Utah, with lots of shades in between along the way. The idea that all of someone's ancestors were good or bad is absurd. If anything, chances are all of our ancestors did some very shitty things just to survive and all of them had a very hard life compared to how we have it now in the West.
