    @@dulla93 Well it hasn't been trash for a good stretch when he was playing. There's more to basketball than just money, Lakers and the Celtics you know. I admire every 'low market' team that makes some results. That was a fun team to watch for a while. Conley outplayed Chris Paul in every head to head game i've seen. He basically outplayed every other NBA PG in those couple of years. But true, Memphis never had good shooting, and they never achieved much.

    I thought Bill Burr was going to go for the full Richard Pryor quote. I don't remember the exact quote, but the gist of it was "Who is going to spend 400,000 dollars running for a job that pays 35,000 a year unless they planned to steal it back with interest!" Saw that movie when I was a kid, and that one quote pretty much formed my lifelong political opinions lol.

    I'm so glad bill talked about this. I feel exactly the same, for years during the time period he's talking about in the NBA I thought it was rather obvious that there was some shady shit being done by the officials in many games but everyone said I was crazy and just mad a certain team didn't win. Then like Bill said this information comes out and you think "Vindication " and people still act like it wasn't a big deal. Ridiculous

    I would watch games that had certain spreads and there would be like less than a minute left and I would tell myself "great, there is absolutely no way the other team is going to make it within the spread" and then some absolute BS calls are made, all of a sudden they are within. That's when I knew this thing is rigged.

  • @latestsports-viralsportscl3971
    @latestsports-viralsportscl39715 жыл бұрын

    It gets worse. If a player plays standard defense and the ref calls a blocking foul, the player can no longer play defense as well as he can't give as much contact as usual. Likewise, the offensive player can give even more contact because he knows the defender will get called for a block if he gives contact back. This is why Dwayne Wade got a shooting foul called for him every time he went into the lane against the Mavs in the finals. You can't defend a player if they call a foul on you every time they go into the lane. You might as well just let him dunk. Mark Cuban of the Mavs was furious and everyone knows DWade got all the free foul calls that series. A ref can really determine who wins a game if the teams are at all close in skill level.

    This was the 2002 NBA Western Conference Finals Game 6. Lakers were on the brink of elimimation until the refs start screwing up the calls. Other than the allegation of gambling, NBA was also accused of favoring the Los Angeles of winning the series being the "bigger market" than Sacramento.

    Always about the spread. Gives them plausible denability. Have not watched pro sports in years, just snippets and usually basketball or football. Find both have become completely boring. Anyway, watched an entire Packers v Bears game last year for the first time in at least 20 years and saw several plays that made zero sense to me. Then it hit me these games are rigged. When I mentioned it to my friend watching with me he plunged the knife in with his response back, "Lance Armstrong:"

    Another thing NBA refs would do . Is they would call an equal amount of calls for both teams . So it doesn’t look fixed . BUT . For the team they’re betting on . They call fouls that will get them to the free throw line . 2 birds 1 stone . You’re getting opposition key players in foul trouble . And they’re getting their team free points .

    NBA players are not overpaid. The league pulls in revenue in the billions because of the talent and hard work of those players. If anything, since roughly half the revenue goes to team owners who don't do shit except rip off cities and park their money in a tax free "non-profit", the players are UNDERPAID. Get rid of the owners, make the teams public institutions/clubs owned by the municipalities they play in, and give the players, coaches, trainers, and refs their fair share.

    dsrtdawg1 They're producing entertainment. Don't like it, don't watch it. That's how they make so much. 12 year olds begging parents for jerseys and going to home games. Start a petition if you feel so strongly about it.

    Well by that logic all artists shouldn't be paid as they are because they aren't actually producing anything besides entertainment. I know guys that get through their productive 9-5 because they love basketball, and without that entertainment he may not be as productive. Entertainment = Production and they should be paid based on how much entertainment they provide to their companies.

    MLB is easy to rig too, I remember in the 2012 and 2013 playoffs every pitch Justin Verlander threw was a strike. Fox had the digital box for the strike zone on tv and he was getting calls way out of the strike zone. Meanwhile Sonny Gray had to throw it right over the middle or it was a ball. I'm not saying that series was fixed, but it would be easy to do. MLB has no official strike zone, every ump is different.

    its easier to not call a foul when it is, rather than calling a foul even though there were none.

    Doesnt take much to fix basketball games... pretty much every offense has something you can call, so what you call is subjective.

    Here's the most interesting part that no one's talking about is the NBA actually has the salary cap for best players meaning it can only get x amount. If they didn't have the cap on their best players guys like LeBron would probably be making double what he makes. Expect that in the new contract they negotiate from the players union
