Interesting fact about "Saturday Night Fever" and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge scene, where Tony opens up and begins tearing up. The ending of that scene was largely improvised, because earlier John Travolta's real-life girlfriend, Diana Hyland, died of cancer during filming, and John's tears in that scene were real, and Karen kissing John on his cheek was improvised. Karen knew the grief John was feeling, and because John was beginning to cry, she improvised and kissed him on his cheek. It was a genuinely tender moment, so the Director decided to leave that interaction in the movie.

I would see "Saturday Night Fever" asap. When you hear these songs you will see how they fit in the context of the film. Take it from this 70's child/recovering metalhead the public went bananas when this came out!

The falsetto is not Barry’s natural voice. He actually has a beautiful lower register. He discovered he could sing falsetto in tune while recording Nights on Broadway in 1975. It was a popular sound and they continued to use the falsetto, especially with the songs on the Saturday Night Fever sound track. You need to check out some of their songs pre-disco if you haven’t already, like Run to Me and Words.

It’s interesting to note that Maurice sings the falsetto parts, when they perform “Nights on Broadway” live.

It's also said it's not completely falsetto but rather his head voice as he can hold it and range through it. Head voice is the pitch like you would him or talk delicately with. Barry definitely had a big range from high to low, he is amazing.

It is his natural voice. But he is singing outside the range he normally uses. He is known for his pure falsetto abilities.

Also about the vocals The Bee Gees only started doing the high falsetto voice later in their career if you check out their old work like "To love somebody" or "Nights on Broadway" you can hear their normal voices which are really incredible. Definitely get into their older songs like the ones I mentioned because it's the type of style music they first got popular with! You should then get into Andy Gibb, their younger brother who had multiple number one and top ten hits written by Barry Gibb himself! Try "Shadow dancing" and "I just want to be your Everything".

Hello Lorraine and Mihret, my god you are both breathtakingly beautiful, with that said! The Bee Gees were a music group formed in 1958, featuring brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid-to-late 1970s. The group sang recognizable three-part tight harmonies; Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid-to-late 1970s and 1980s. The Bee Gees wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists. Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Charlton, Manchester, England until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, and then to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart success in Australia as the Bee Gees with "Spicks and Specks" (their 12th single), they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stig wood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year. The Bee Gees have sold over 120 million records worldwide (with estimates as high as over 220 million), making them among the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997; the presenter of the award to "Britain's first family of harmony" was Brian Wilson, historical leader of the Beach Boys, another "family act" featuring three harmonizing brothers. The Bee Gees' Hall of Fame citation says, "Only Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees." The Bee Gees are the third most successful band in the world.

The Bee Gees were not just great performers; they were amazing songwriters who other artists went to for songs. This song, for example, was not only recorded by themselves, but also was a minor hit for a 70s soul group called Tavares. Here's that recording, which is quite different from this version: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eYWXpbSoYsWTiqg.html Btw, if you girls have HBOMax subscribed at the moment, check out this documentary on it called "Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart". It's about the band and their career from 1967 to the present, with only Barry Gibb (the lead singing falsetto on this song) as the sole survivor of the group.

John Travolta has always been portrayed as a women's man, when in fact he is gay. Not bashing him, but I'm sure it was a letdown to a lot of women, including his former wife.
