Such a great video, I think this is my 5th or 6th viewing. Love the scenery, the narration, the Blue Tits, the jagwars, the gammon & chips - love it all.

Great video Andy. I especially liked how you explained things along the route (I've always admired your knowledge of the places which you visit), coupled with your easy going presenting skills. I was totally engrossed with watching, so much so, that I felt like I was there with you on your journey (minus the up-hill, out of breath, sweaty bits 🙂). I thoroughly enjoyed watching this from start to finish. Brilliant stuff mate. 👍

great video mate , we walked the Cumbria way more or less same time as you i think. we set off from Ulverston on Friday 16th June and finished in Carlisle Tuesday 20th. Loved every bit of it but i laughed when you said the path through Stonethwaite was uncomfortable on your feet , we all said exactly the same , our trail shoes were perfect for the smoother stuff and like you i had no blisters at all . Thanks for posting this i will show it my mates im sure they will enjoy the memmories .

thanks mike..we set off on monday the 5th from ulverston & arrived in carlisle on the friday..yeah that stretch really did pummel our feet it was probably the worst part for walking..the trail shoes i wore the hoka speedgoat 5 were faultless..apart from hot feet due to the hot weather id no blisters or sore feet..really good shoes.

Tremendous Andy. Your film should be used by the tourist board promoting the CW as you are showing it in a really positive light. I have a soft spot for the quieter Northern Fells so to see you walking through them was great. And of course Lingy Hut holds recent memories for me. Caldbeck is a nice place. I've not been for many a year but remember mooching round the church and churchyard there. I'm liking the look of a bit of campsite camping, with all the nice facilities. Looking forward to the grand finale! ATB, Chris

when i referred to long distance it was more to the c2c or pennine way etc..up to 80/100 mile is quite do able over 5 days where as the previous would require a considerable longer time frame.

Lovely route that, I've enjoyed watching yours and Paul's progress. What modification have you made to your X mid door? I was out in mine last night on kinder scout.... myself and my mate stayed on the northern side thinking it would be quiet on a Friday night....how wrong we were...there were about 7 of us all along the edge and fairbrook naze lol. Thankfully all responsible wildcampers like us👍🏻

  • @AndrewBeavers

can be a popular area around fairbrook now unfortunately, never used to be it was always one of the quieter areas..the door ive clipped in a short loop of elastic to the mitten hook bit where the inner clips to the outer, then just a plastic carabiner clips onto the mid panel guy..pretty simple mod to do.

I was hoping that lad would jump in the water for the vid lol and that jag on the trail, insane, surely they must have realised something was wrong. Looking forward to final part Atb Mark

Quite a contrast to your summit wild camps and extreme weather outings, but great to watch all the same. Thorougly enjoyed the narration and fantastic scenery as always, and maybe a bit easier for oldies like me to relate to. Good weather, flushing toilets, hot showers and pub grub are climing higher are increasingly on my check list. Thought I'd find out out what the YT Transcript feature did. Had me choking on my mug of tea. Hillarious! 🤣🤣 👍👍👍

I thought I heard you say in a previous video that you were staying at the YHA in Keswick, was it fully booked up, do you think the trail runners are similar to Vivobarefoot, I have a pair of Vivobarefoot and they are really comfortable on grassy surfaces but when walking on stony paths you can feel on the underside of your feet that you are walking on a stony path.

staying at the yha was an option but not at £40 a night...the hoka's have been great but not sure how thay'd compare to the vivobarefoot as iv'e not had any experience with those.
