That’s light. But then again I’m still fairly new and still trying to figure what I need and what to kick. But then again I bring a saw toothed machete. Small ax. Multiple sources of fire. Multiple ways of water purification. 2 hammocks 2 bug nets. 32 oz kleen kanteen. Nalgene type bottle. Bottle of propane with stove attachment. Usually food for me and son. Food for my dogs. Plus hygiene and extra outfit or 2. My son carries a pack with our fishing tackle. Usually I attach 2-3 rod and reels to my pack. That’s not even including headlamps, or blankets or rain gear. I’m sure I didn’t list quite a bit as well.
Scafell Pike is the last of the trio that i need to tick off - would be great to combine this with a wildcamp. Where is the best place to park overnight? (not permitted at Wasdale I see). Love all your content!
Fab vid xx
I did my first ever wildcamp in 2018 on that spot you mentioned Andy near the path. That was a two man tent with the Mrs… her first and last camp 😂
Hi andy did my first wild camp last night on kinder, did a reccy on monday but did miss you, thanks for all the information that you give to your viewers and hope we all leave no trace. I'm looking forward to next week now my water filter arrived a couple of days late so next week i wont be carrying 5 liters of water up there,.
Got to point now where I just bring my massive backpack even on overnighters so I can pick other peoples shit up and have somewhere to put it. It’s definitely getting worse, does my head in as well
Shame about the result. Could see your excitement before the game and then that disappointment straight after. Ah well, that sunrise made up for it eh! All the best Andy.
👋🏻
Love the videos pal, this is one of if not my favourite place to walk so was wondering if there's anywhere near it to wild camp and there you go camping right on top of it! Love it 😁
Hi Andy. Brilliant mate. What a morning to wake up to. All the best mate Dave 😃🥾⛰🏕️
Good stuff Andy, always watch your videos mate. I was up on Howden Moors yesterday, camped at Crow Stones (video out tomorrow 😊) I know all about the bilberries around here & noticed they are coming out a bit early this year. On my way down to Slippery Stones I stopped & pick some, & I thought to me sen, I’m getting in here before Mr Beavers eats em all!! 😂 Take care pal Dave
We played terrible 😂 Great video
21:40 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've had this rant a few times in videos I've done. Too many times now I'm seeing people leave their crap. It's not hard to carry it back down with you. Great video mate 👊🏼
Great camp Andy, though somewhat spoilt for you I fear by the football result. At least you will always remember where you were when you watched the match. Leaving rubbish in the countryside seems to be becoming a sign of the times. It’s no wonder some landowners try to ban campers from their land! Carrying our ‘empties’ out is a very small price to pay for the privilege and pleasure of visiting such beautiful areas. People who don’t accept this SHOULD be banned!
Watching your videos to feed my passion for camps whilst I can’t get out Andy. You legend 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
People who leave anything behind are shitheels. I spotted a deserted tent full of camping gear at Crowden Tower in May. Went back two days later and recovered it. Really can’t understand folk
Hopefully you still enjoyed the night despite the match
Another great hike. Love the beautiful landscapes and nature you got there 😊😊😊
Great video as per usual Andy the football has never been of any interest to me. I lived next to Manchester Uniteds ground growing up so i was more interested in minding cars to earn money to spend on climbing gear and trips when i was a kid. All my mates spent all their money on following football and now we are in our 60s i always ask them how many birthday/Christmas cards or thanks they have had from Man U or the players .....i bet you can answer that one . Bugger All 😂😂😂 The rubbish situation is indeed dire. I actually found 3 blocks of firewood stashed behind some rocks last week too but i burried them. I have seen the odd block on the path even a couple of times so not sure if it could be the same idiots who are taking these up. I dont think i have ever created more rubbish that wouldnt all fit inside a freeze dried meal sachet ever when i have spent the night on a mountain but i thought everyone knows that trick where you can crush a can with your foot and reduce its volume to less than a 3rd of its size. They are just bone idle piss heads who have no respect or appreciation of the Great Outdoors and most likely live like pigs at home too.
The same mentality as dumping tyres or building waste in the countryside, fly tippers leaving disposable BBQ's and cans will spoil it for the rest of us.
I spent Saturday neet on on fairbrook m8, I were in my Alpkit aeronaut1. There were another chap up there also, not sure where he got pitched tho. I got drenched to bone by the wet ferns that have overgrown the path while walking up fairbrook. Forgot my waterproof trousers😖😂. Have a good un
Really enjoyable video Andy. It's really does boil my p**s people leaving their rubbish on the hill. It's irresponsible, disrespectful and darn right disgusting. These popular spots getting trashed really puts me of visiting them and using them myself anymore. I feel its getting to the point that you dare not mention places incase they too become popular and risk getting trashed too. People should always Leave no trace. Sadly this doesn't always happen. Rant over . ATB mate
I no longer share my favorite spots due to this very reason. In the states, the national parks continue to be strained at the seams and people keep defacing precious places, disregarding rules that keep themselves and the natural world safe, and being so entitle they simply do whatever they want. Since the world doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, they believe they can (and usually do) get away with it.
You had a beautiful morning- which is a rarity this “summer”! I love Fairbrook Naze. I have camped there once - about 3 years ago. Pity you didn’t get the inversion but fantastic views nevertheless.
Great video and a couple of paths I'll look out for next time I'm up there. I saw a mountain hare on my way up between the Nab and Ringing Roger a couple of months ago was lovely to see 👍
Great video Andy and like many others I'm also disgusted with the amount trash left on Kinder or anywhere for that matter.. I've yet to wildcamp on or near fairbrook naze as I tend to search out the quiter spots along the northern edge. On your return route I'm shaw that's the path I took 2 weekends ago for my Kinder gates wildcamp and found it a lot easier than that middle path you pointed out.. Great views in the morning accross the Vale of Edale and over the great ridge into castleton 👍😁 p.s just got myself a durston Xmid 1 solid delivered to my works add instead of home today 🙄 I'm hoping it's there in the morning when I clockon.. But yes, I'm sick of taking other folks rubbish of the hills and moors.. 🤬 I wouldn't mind, but the rubbish is actually lighter and more compactable than when they took it up there.. so no excuse not to bring it back down with them.. rant over.. Good video Andy 😁👍
Great vid Andy, always good to point out about people dumping rubbish! Hopefully these people watch your videos and take heed…
Lovely morning there, I'm getting a bit stalled with the Peaks recently, the littering is shocking. It's a pet hate of mine anywhere, just no need for it
Really is putting me off certain areas too. Some people are just down right irresponsible and disrespectful. . Getting to point where you dare not mention locations incase they too become popular and trashed. It's not difficult to follow the leave no trace etiquette.
It beggars belief some peoples mentality. Effin bone idle twxts
Nice one Andy , love the footage. 🐜
Like many, just can’t get my head around, why people who are obviously enjoying being outdoors, feel perfectly ok with leaving their rubbish behind. They genuinely do not seem to care, and are happy to ruin things for others/wildlife. Bewildering 🤷🏻♂️ Lovely morning that 👍🏼 Cheers, Gary B
Nice thanks Andy , always like kinder 👍
Myself and a friend walked walked along the woodland valley along side snake pass a few weeks ago and there was loads of rubbish and people camping/making a mess fires barbecues total joke they just don’t give a shit 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Nice one Andy, great footage, I'm more concerned about the litter than the England result. I recently reported a woman who had thrown either a tissue or sweet wrappers out of her car window on the woodhead pass, I'm told she received a £100 fine, just think if everyone reported things like this when it's on dash cam. Look forward to your next video as always, Rich
Went to a campsite on Saturday, woke up slugs all over, put me off tbh
Great vlog brilliant commentary. I need to get myself out of Wales and take a look.
Just subscribed to your channel, love it.
Nice one Andy, certainly better going up Crowden Clough than down it. Reckon I set the world record 1st time coming down it with my 74kg Newfoundland on the lead on some sort of mission to get to the bottom for his dinner 😅
Camped up on Seal stones Friday night. Walked up Golden clough after watching your previous video. Great route really interesting just got to watch out for the bit that is giving way at the start. Rained all night but eased off in the morning. Thanks for finding those great routes. As you say always LNT or even better than when you found it. I picked up somebody’s rubbish on way down 😊
The littering situation is disgusting. I'm all for people enjoying the outdoors but if they can't leave the outdoors as they find it, they should stay at home.
Yeah, litter shitters should just stay at home the scruffs.
Hi Andrew love the videos you do just a quick question we are up in the peaks in October and was wondering what route you’d recommend to do for kinder scout preferably a circular route please cheers 👍🏻
plenty circular routes to do tbh..depends on mileage you want to do..theres the full skyline 18 mile or so but bear in mind time as its easily an 8 to 10 hour route depending on you're ability & fitness..shorter routes are the classic grindsbrook route along to edale rocks then back down jacobs ladder & back along the valley..the nab & ringing roger along the edge past nether tor & upper tor & down past grindslow knoll..plenty to go at tbh.
@@AndrewBeavers hi that’s great think up grindsbrook and then down Jacob’s ladder is the one for us we are just 3 lads that love walking and are up for 3 days staying in Castleton thanks again Andrew all the best 👍🏻
Could feel your pain with the cold fingers 🥶
Fantastic that mate. Great effort.
😂😂😂 if you ever go abroad, do us a video of you ordering food from the foreign menu. Cracking views down there though
thats something no one wants to see 😂😂
Excellent as always.. sky looked unreal😍
Another good one Andy. 👍
Nice wildcamp and surise 👍🙂
Great again Andy, enjoy your videos, take care 🐜
I really enjoyed that. What a cracking adventure.
which map did you use on phone?
i use topo gps..
Great video Andy. I enjoy walking in those conditions but not wild camped in them yet. Maybe this year.
its certainly a different experience one that gets you appreciating the nicer conditions.
