I'm a grown man, construction worker and consider myself a pretty tough guy.....until I see orphaned orangutans then my heart melts and I just want to cuddle them

Hello Marc, I love primates. My favorites are the gorillas. I never thought much on the orangutans, always thought they had way to much hair. But seeing them small and watching them grow has melted my heart. Orangutans seem to wear their emotions on their sleeves. They squeal when scared, they walk hugging each other for security, they do these goofy things and had me laughing so much yesterday as I binged on Orangutan School Videos. You gotta watch the Orangutan School series. At the orangutan school you will see so much of so much, its great; additionally, you will meet a male & female that become friends and they become separated ( so so sad see it) then they think the female who is very young is pregnant ( she & boyfriend were always necking at school behind the trees 🤣), but the last series I just saw yesterday they were going to take her to get tested for PG. So I'm waiting on that video, I don't know the outcome. Just so you know. You can be a strong construction worker, but what makes you a great man is your beautiful heart. Take care... And watch the Orangutan school.

What? Did you know that the only reason these people have these monkeys is because they killed the mother and most of the troop to get it. Then, they mistreat it and exploit them on KZread for money. All of the videos of my monkey is private. Ki think I may have put one up on youtube.

@@98shon98 The "people" in these videos are NOT the people responsible for turning these young primates into orphans. Poachers are to blame!!! Poachers sell the young to anyone willing to pay. These people rescue the orphaned from those individuals that are usually extremely incapable of caring for them. Nor are these particular orphans being exploited!!! Successful preservation isn't cheap. KZread has been a great platform for raising awareness for activism. Frankly..I'm a little surprised that you could end up with such a distorted view of what's actually happening in these type of videos. I think you could probably benefit from paying less attention to the overly righteous comment section and more to the actual videos. Furthermore, it seems kind of hypocritical to me that if you truly believed these young apes are being exploited for the sake of views, that you would take the time to watch and comment in the first place. Nevertheless..we should all continue watching and commenting as its ultimately a good thing to become more aware and educated. But you should take more time to realise who the "bad people" are and who is actually trying to help.

I think it's adorable how the chimps hold their caretakers hands while walking beside them.

@@LogicbyDesign no, the orangutan jungle school takes place in Borneo and Sumatra. I imagine the chimps and gorillas schools likely happen in Africa. Wherever that particular primates' natural habitat is will provide the best training ground to return to the wild.

Ant the Gord hahaha 😂 !! Omg right ? It’s awesome !!! It’s been shown that cats laugh ( dogs as well) .., although they don’t exhibit the same gestures , but that cats have. Sense of humor ., though ppl attribute that to being extremely dry , but haha ,’I just know my cat probably has laughed at or judged me a few times 😂. I’ve always said, that animals are capable of experiencing the full range of emotions , just as we are capable in our own ways , despite it being different and more complex in certain aspects ,, but that obviously they feel and sense emotion and exhibit that within their mannerisms & behavioral gestures etc. where just bc they may not sense or express the full range of emotions exactly as we do , Doesn’t exclude them from being able to feel .. so many people are oblivious and really missing out , when they assume animals or certain living beings aren’t capable kg having feelings or feeling pain or suffering .,, many of those very people seem to have never opened their eyes or hearts .. to see the obvious ! For anyone to think humans are the only Ones able to exhibit such abilities is just evident of their unintelligent and inability to perceive and read cues and signals and gestures in / or their inability to have empathy for other living beings is just disturbing and ridiculous .,, idk if many among the scientific community have just perpetuated that ideology just to enact their cruelty among research and studies , so that people would form a detached perspective and separate themselves from being capable to address the obvious truth , seeing that so many animal studies and research and testing is barbaric and cruel , bc imo, for anyone to be so oblivious and to truly not see it upon just observing them at all.., for like 1-5 min. To see that omg , not only are they capable of feeling pain and suffering ( as evident upon their behavior kn response to the abuse and torture enacted on them ) they’re ( especially among most social mammals ) so very capable of each emotion and feeling at the core of it all. Despite the complexities we may have with our larger , more developed Brains , that they’re most definitely able to convey upon just observing them , feelings we should be very aware of ., it’s like people get so mind blown when they see oh wow , we’re not the only ones to do that ? And it’s the most basic of folks at times to never conclude some of the most obvious things, where it’s just difficult imo to interact with ppl who operate that way ., they’re Easily amused and come off as if they’re just marginally intelligent when they’re like, flipping out over it anytime tnry see something do the obvious 😂. Idk why they didn’t expect more and why they certainly expect less other than either selfishly motivated ideals etc ... bc no one in their right mind would look at social animals & miss the obvious cues and gestures and mannerisms or the personality traits and be so misinformed. It’s astounding. And we all have to learn and grow as we go , but some will be * finally after forever it seems 😂 so shocked and amused at things that animals will do , always comparing them to themselves or humanizing them and that’s the issue ,too,, bc it’s either ppl are so disconnected from what they see or they’re trying too hard to humanize everything and they’re the ones that will misread gestures and non verbal cues so badly. I can’t stand when someone sees a monkey or an ape bearing its teeth & gets all excited saying oh look it’s smiling and they’ll smile back Causing more tension for the animal. Or if they see them play fighting, they’ll be quick to freak out and think they were acting maliciously or violently and other things of that nature. It’s so cool to see cute things like an animal just laughing and cutting up and having fun ! And while i get that there’s scientific evidence of many things , j can’t stand when they’ll always say oh , they prob. Just are driven out of instinct or it’s just a reaction to stimulation or when it comes to baby monkeys and the way they pitch fits and carry on in this over dramatic behaviors and cry .. and cry and cry , they’ll say oh no , humans are the only ones to cry ,, Bh were the only ones to produce tears as a result of emotional or physical pain .. yet they’ll say animals have “ distress calls “.. yes they do. But some of them also cry. My cat cries for me when I’m gone and will search the house calling out “ weh ahh oooh ? Weh ahh ooooh? ( I always say where are U in the same cadence and tone when I come in and don’t see him 😂) so it sounds as if he’s asking where I am too. Maybe not. But still. I do know he also calls me weh eow ,. He only does that vocalization directed at me and it’s never when he’s asking for something or doing anything other than sitting with me or waking me up 😂. So I’m weh eow 😂. I’ll tell him to go find my daughter & will say where’s Bre ? Go find Bre and he runs to her room and finds her. If she’d not tnsre he stays in there and looks up at me like omg she’s not in here 😂. I’ll get his trees & ask do u want some & taught him to shake his head yes or no with some positive enrichment during my training him and he’ll say yes. And I’ll put one in my hand. Sometimes closing my hand and I’ll say open it up & he opens my hand for his treat or I’ll have one in both hands or present both hands to him & he’ll pick one. At Times before opening it up , I’ll ask are u sure u want that one ? If he is, he’ll stay where he is with his paw in my hand but if he’s not he’ll go select the other one. He picks out his cat food flavor by me lining a few up & saying which one do u want & he’ll inspect them and make his decision and it’s usually an obvious decision haha ,, he follows me wherever I go , rides in the car , never has to be restrained or caged and walks on a leash if were ever out for a walk. He was completely wild and I’ve worked with him a long time but he is so smart and ppl all the time depict cats as being uncaring and aloof or mean and I’m like wow. They haven’t gotten the opportunity to be around a cat to make that assumption.

Baby orangs and baby monkeys have got to be the cutest!!! Wish i could hug them ❤

We truly see ourselves in our cousins such as the great apes. This has got to be one of the most fulfilling jobs ever.

I would love to have done something like this. What a wonderful dedicated team you are. Thank you for helping.

I didn't know the sanctuaries could raise chimps and gorillas together in a group! The little ones seemed ok with each other's company. Great video - especailly montage and showing the necessary skills in different apes.

Generally chimps and gorillas would not be raised together - especially as they grow older. In this unusual case there was only one baby of each and the care staff was limited. It was decided to share the forest school experience for their first few months. They have each long sinced joined larger groups of their own species in the sanctuary.

Excellent documentary showing the dedicated and loving care given to baby orphaned apes to teach them needed life skills. Much appreciation and respect for the caregivers and sanctuaries providing for these wonderful apes.

My cold stone heart warms a little bit seeing this videos. I feel sad to think about the hostile and horrible background of this precious little monkeys, but the fact that there are people caring about this, bring me back the faith in humanity

I love those little guys so much. It must be hard for the caretakers to release them into the wild after those bonds have been made. Much respect to the kind hearted people raising them.

Its a really hard job ;) most of us "modern women" would find it very hard. Its like having a baby, with no help, in the middle of the jungle, without wifi and hi confort ;) they eat, wash, sleep with the baby until he is big enough to go to the next round. And you have to let him leave after raising him... Those caretakers are wonderfull people :)

How ANYONE can view these amazing creatures as meat/food is just abominable. I have such a love and fascination for these animals and I’m so glad there are so many sanctuaries out there like this one, so dedicated to taking care of these little ones. They deserve life…love…and respect.

At times people living in poor areas are driven to bushmeat hunting because they need a source of protein. This is why conservation programs must focus on the wellbeing of people too. Baby orangutans are the cutest

It's impossible not to fall in love with little apes, the chimps and orangs especially. As cute as young gorillas are their natural strength can be a bit intimidating if not outright dangerous. They may not mean to hurt a human but can cause harm so easily once they reach a certain age. Chimps are far less likely to harm a human but again are much stronger than a grown man after a certain age. Orangs interestingly are so naturally gentle they are rarely a big threat. All of course are incredibly cute and their need to hug and be held and to feel loved and show affection to those who care for them is just so human like it's hard for me to grasp how a person can be cruel to such sweet critters. Poor people who are desperate to feed their families or just not caring and are willing to kill in order to make some rich man happy it's hard to hate them but seeing mutilated rhinos or elephants or dead gorillas is such a sad thing. I often feel it's not always a kindness to try and return a young animal to the bush or Forrest where they are immediately in danger again. As bad as it may sound the time is fast coming when the only safe place for some animals is basically anywhere but the wild. Unless much more is done to protect them large numbers of apes and other critters will be gone soon, and that will be a terrible tragedy

These animals and us are so clearly related and it's so obvious to see in their family ties. And you know the babies feel the trauma of their mothers being killed just like a human child would

Not monkeys. Chimpanzees, gorillas, orangutans and bonobos are great apes. Monkeys have tails and apes do not.

What a great job! Being foster parent to these gorgeous little babies, and getting to interact with them every day and watching them learn how to one day be back living the life that they were born for. Now humans just have to stop putting money before the lives of these cousins of ours and destroying their habitat or stealing them from their birth mother for the illegal pet trade, or worse..and people have to stop thinking of them as pets because that’s just selfish. It’s for their own gratification, fetishising these little creatures like substitute children. They aren’t meant to wear nappies, or clothes, or walk upright, or live without their troop.

These are so cute and sweet. Thank you for working and teaching these guys the skills they need and taking care of them. They are just so sweet and have such a good personality. They smile and get get their love in return. It saddens me to know that these sweet babies are abused when taken from its mom. So sad.

This forest schools caretakers are so caring and love these apes like their own children, I can see although habitat loss and human poaching destroying a lot still there are hope for these babies.

Brilliant. One of the best videos I've seen in 10 years and I've seen all of the great ape videos on KZread. Thank you. Very awesome! _(I'm thinking they will eventually need to learn to deal with and control their temperament among the hierarchy of the group. I've seen alot of care takers neglect the chimps temperament training thinking as long as they have love and affection, their temper works itself out but that is not true. They need training in this area. Food and/or item possession is a great place to start. Sharing is a huge learning experience. How they socialize and how they control their temperament determines how well they survive within the group)_

Hi Amber, A great way to get involved is through volunteering, you can check out our recent post about volunteering with primate sanctuaries here: globio.org/volunteer-abroad-with-primate-sanctuaries/ Volunteering with ethical sanctuaries is a really awesome way to make a difference for rescued orphaned apes - although keep in mind some sanctuaries may limit volunteer contact with the babies. We may all be stuck at home now but check it out so see if volunteering would be something you're interested in doing in the future when everything opens back up.

Thanks for this video just like child trafficking children suffer but always looking for love and security.
