How do you make them get together when it's time to go home? What if they scatter in different locations in forest? Or maybe they're too little for that?

the caretakers are basically their step-mothers, so they know that they have bigger chances of surviving and learning when theyre with them. orangutans that young are usually almost fully dependant and know better than to escape, also, most were found as alone abandoned youngins, they probably dont want to experience that again

Interesting how albinos tend to suffer from blindness. It's especially interesting in orangutans because carotenoids give plants their orange color and help prevent oxidative stress in the eyes. An excess of carotenoids can cause the skin to turn slightly orange as well. It would seem all three are related: the skin pigmentation, the nutrient metabolism, and the blindness🤔

It's also some retina burn out. I haven't studied which process is affecting Alba's eyes the most but I have my suspicion. My experience is with albino and white faced horses. Their eyes in particular, when blue, vs. aqua or green, deteriorate quickly if steps aren't taken to reduce the reflected light coming up from the white coat into the lower half of the eye, (no protection from the orbital shelf, or long lashes like the upper half). We actually have to put the "blackout" greece/paste used by professional athletes to protect the eyes from damage. Looks kinda funny some days when they are all lined up looking at you. I especially get a kick out of watching them all play with the giant boomer ball. Then they really do look like a bunch footballers.

Albinoism does not have anything to do with food it is a genetic defect. And there is no correlation with eating for example carrots and having red hair thats just the ramblings a lunatic.

Hmmm they live on average 30 years in the wild, but in zoos and as pets they live into their 70s. Good thing these orangutans will remain taken care of for the rest of their life. Wild animal or animals living in the wild? This is how hard it would be if they started doing this with everyone’s dogs and cats! Oh so heart breaking seeing these awesome animals who are clearly man’s best. Friend, but unobtainable. 😢
