BA Falcon - How To Replace Rotors and Pads
After taking 4 hours to remove the stuck brake rotors when removing the axles to replace the rear wheel bearing I decided to take the extra time to clean up the rotors and hubs to ensure that the brake rotors wont be rusted again meaning if I ever have to pull the brake rotors off in the future they will come off super easily. Also replaced the break pads.

    I thought I needed diff fluid because I heard grinding coming from the back of the car last night..realised when I pulled the wheels off it was my rotors, absolutely caked with rust, sand and dirt ( My house is on a dirt road). Ive been looking all over for weeks for inner guards for the back, but cant find them anywhere, so Im just going to make some..got cpl front ones laying aroud Im sure I can sort something out. Im currently sitting on my bed with my rear rotors watching your vid and was about to get the surface rust off..might do by hand instead so my family doesnt kill me. If the sun goes down and Im not finished I just bring the car inside haha ..great vid, thankyou

    Great vid and series, thank for sharing. Have used many of the tutorials to help with my BA ‘04 (sedan series 2) with all the usual problems. But there are a couple of tips or videos I can suggest that hopefully you’ve come across. 1. It stalls. When you take off and then brake mainly. I have changes the coils (your video), and the brake switch as the cruise control doesn’t work and some forums suggested it might be the brake switch. I think its the TPS or throttle body that’s needs a clean. So a video on how to clean and change the TPS, or other advice welcome. 2. The brakes shake like Michael J Fox, but this video might be the solution. 3. Time for some new suspension and ball joint replacement front and rear, any advice or vids on that one would be great. 4. Sagging roof lining. Should be easy to replace that one 4. Rear speakers and interior lights, all the fuses are good though. Not sure on this one? But the stalling, no cruise control and suspected TPS issue its doing my head in. Any advice or future video greatly appreciated. Keep up the vid’s. Cheers...jez

    I've had a random stall problem, it is apparently a TPS from my research.

    Hey tangles. You definitely got your money's worth out of those old pads.👍 Job well done. When the batteries run down, time for a pit stop.🍺 Here are a few more for that yard work ahead of you.🍺🍺 Glad you got the job and don't worry, I always enjoy a good ramble, especially from a hard working guy who manages to stay humble through all the bs the world dishes out. As you say, you're a good egg.😊 Nice to know you finally figured out the issue with #3 on the racecar. You need to take it out and knock the dust off of it now anyway. I'd appreciate another ride-along if you don't mind. Have a great weekend, tangles. I've gotta go see if I can find this Bathurst event.😉

    Technically you don't need that screw to hold the rotor on... in fact in the Sedan version it doesn't even have them (well mine doesn't anyway). What holds the rotor in place is the wheel nuts and the force of the wheel against it.

  • @tangles01

    @tangles01

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah, I know, but when the wheels off, helps to hold it in place, especially if you/re doing anything with the caliper. In effect the HB will hold it on too as it grooves the drum.

Mate those plastic back plate shims gave me the damn shits , the bloody things keep falling off when I tried to put the calipers back on .
