BA Falcon - How to release stuck or seized brake rotors
Goosezilla's channel: / @goodezilla

Simple easy quick way to remove a seized brake rotor. The rotor is rusted onto the hub and this saved me hours of work trying to remove them.

Wood deadens the blow, but being on the rotor to increase the leverage, the bolt method is faster and a lot easier.

@@tangles01 Ended up changing them.. I notice that when you use a bolt behind to move the rotor you have to be careful as your pushing against the backing plate i found out i bent the other side a bit forward and when i drove it made a loud scraping noise so i had to slightly straighten that backing plate a bit to stop it. When i tied to remove the left side it stuck on the handbrake shoes and the hole to adjust the shoe is way to high on the factory rotor to actually adjust the shoe so it was a struggle to get it of.
would also help if you placed a piece of steel plate or similar between the tip of the bolt and the rotor surface to prevent the marring of the rotor surface as you spoke about when using a hammer as the bolt will damage the surface.
@tangles01

You absolutely could, it's bot a bad idea, but I depending on how stuck it is, you shouldn't need to. If it's properly seized on you could mark it a bit, but at that point that case bit is likley to break.
Tangles a really good idea. Thank you.

Really appreciate your BA Falcon videos! Keep em coming! We have similar taste in cars, Nissan made some great cars in the 89-90s period! My previous car was a 92 Gts-t Skyline M-spec, in the rarer factory dark green colour, great car, really miss it, will have to get another Skyline one day! 300ZX and Mitsubishi GTO (twin-turbo) are also favourites of mine. The 89-90s period produced some great cars! Are you a fan of the turbo Falcons?

Could be a thousand things, take her to super cheap they'll read the codes for you.
Due to a handbrake issue with my ford Territory, I had to take of my rear rotors, they actually came of easily with two flat blade screwdrivers opposite each other, the issue I had to tart with is the mechanism, either not working, or loading up the engine, with excess fuel usage, the problem now is to re-adjust them so they bite when the hand brake is pulled on, not so easy to do.

Ball joints. Arms are binding Nd jamming against the wheel/hub.
Just be aware if you use this method, the bolt will push the brake shoe out of its retaining clip. The retaining clip will be bent open slightly. It must be straightened up and the brake shoe properly re-inserted back into the retaining clip. Otherwise you will end up with the infamous Falcon ‘whoosh whoosh’ dragging brake sound. Don’t ask me how I know 😎. A gear puller is probably a safer option.

@@tangles01 handbrake fully off and it still pushed the shoe out of the retainer. Impossible to adjust the shoe via the star wheel. The stupidly located access hole in BF disc prevents that. Going to replace the BF discs with FG discs. The FG access hole looks to be in proper location.
