Love the Watch It! Christmas animation

OK, I’ll do it... “What’s got a hazelnut in every bite?”....Squirrel sh!t I’ll get me coat.....

At first I didn't recognise the Topic advert at all.Not until the end when he fell through the trap door and the lady prompted his lines did the cobweb begin to clear BUT THEN...OH THEN....the NOSTALGIA flod hit me with the ZANUSSI ADVERT. MY god...memories came FLODING BACK!. Wonderful..but WHERE did the years go?.

After the end of a showing of Jason and the Argonauts. Always remembered watching it back on Christmas Eve 1981. Probably the first time I had seen it. Great film.

Clash of the Titans was at the flicks in 81. Didn't come on television until early 1984. And it was on BBC1

got that, clash of the titans and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger on DVD a few years back. just for a bit of Christmas nostalgia. All superb films. Will be watching them this Christmas too

Xmas 81 I recall 2001 a space odyssey, Close encounters of the third kind and Capricorn one movies all getting their tv premieres that holiday period...also loved watching making of the empire strikes back I still have 'em on VHS

Never noticed back then AND have had to see Zanuzzi ad TWICE even now to notice that Monseiur Allo Allo is playing the "father figure" to that VERY second world war "spiv" boy who was all over the screen back then but whose name I never knew.

I remember watching Quincey’s quest on tv this year. The silhouette of the witch really freaked me out though! 😂 Also remember continually asking my mum “if it was time to go to bed yet?” From when it got dark at 4pm😂 She must have been glad when it was final,y my bed time 😂😂Great days when Christmas felt so special ❤

I know ytv did not do invision continuity but did they not do it for watch it?

What was the point in making it changing its name from ATV? Central and its reorganisation never came close to ATV. And now look at it, everything comes out of Birmingham again.

Adlib looks like a spoof.. But I remember it.... And it wasn't.

Im most impressed at how far the dog owner threw that stick? It looked as though it crossed the border into the next county

Any suspicions that the toggling exclamation mark in the Watch It! ident held any subliminal message seems to be confirmed at 5:35!

I did NOT know Brazil Brush started as an 80s show! I am a 90s kid & grew up with Brazil Brush on CBBC. Didn't know he immigrated from pre-Citv (Watch It!)

I watched Basil Brush all the time in the 70's & 80's, same with Sooty. Thanks, not often Watch It! clips turn up, but I love it when they do. I'm sure I have another Watch It! clip somewhere, I need to find it and get that uploaded.

Start of the final week* of ATV. *Technically they didn't lose their franchise but were forced to reincorporate into Central by the IBA.

What was that Ad Lib show about? I can't find anything online about it due to its title being such a common phrase and I never watched it back in the day because I was still a toddler when it was on TV.

This was 3 days before my sister was born.

Presumably "FROLIC" is being voiced by JON Pertwee as opposed to his son who would have ben very young back then?. Both have remarkable similarities.

Who's that I see in Give Us A Clue? Could it be Mr "I'm turning out the light, you might up a fight..." But nothing - not even 4.54 - could be more flesh-crawling than the Buttercup advert. if that's your attitude, just advertise paediatric enemas and get it over with.
