SOUTHERN TV: Day by Day, Christmas Eve 1981
Merry Christmas from this channel! Here's Day by Day from Christmas Eve 1981, 6.00-6.30. Could this be the only copy of this edition in existence? Let's talk about the picture: this was an out-of-area recording made in Kent from the Hannington transmitter in Hampshire. It wasn't a good night for long-distance reception; I seem to recall there was still snow on the ground. But as it was captured on a V2000 machine, the sound is excellent. Includes Worzel Gummidge contemplating life post franchise, Charles Dickens, a tea dance, a man playing cricket in the snow, and a carol too. Pure local Christmas Eve telly. Enjoy.
