Ойын-сауық
In August 1994 BBC2 paid tribute with a night of programmes dedicated to ATV television's output and it's legendary founder Lord Lew Grade.
The night was indroduced by and linked throughout by the characters Jill and Adam Chance from a 'For one night only' re-opened CROSSROADS MOTEL.
Also included in Part 1 is the A-Z of ATV featuring some great clips.

I feel old, almost 30 years ago and I remember that BBC2 indent like it was only recently and I remember ATV very well from my childhood before it changed over to Central in my region on New Years Day 1982. One the the best children's programmes they ever did had to be Tizwas on a Saturday morning with Chris Tarrant, it was renewed for a short time on Central too.
13:30 onward, the old fella dancing... very good, he makes it look so easy. Isn't the body amazing, what it can do, balancing on toes... It is not until you lose it that you really appreciate it, I'm now in a wheelchair, but I have memories, and it is a pleasure to watch this old fella.
Thank you for this. I recorded this at the time on Video cassette tape and have not seen this for a long time until now. Well done of course!!
A wonderful tribute by the BBC! And a wonderful skillful editing made it worth watching for! A fan and an admirer from Pakistan!
I LOVE THIS!!! Thanks for posting it! Lots of memories coming back!
I enjoyed watching ATV night. Lew Grade is the king 👑 Of TV.
This man has had such an influence on my life with the shows he made possible. I wouldnt be the man I am today without Lew Grade. Unfortunately its too late for me to sue him. 😂

0:47 You can hear the opening notes of Crossroads theme
Bit odd to think Angus Lennie was in Crossroads - I always remember him as Ives in The Great Escape 👍
Weird to see the RC car ident before a show other than the original Top Gear.
If there was someone around today with a stable of talent who was willing to finance projects and take risks, we could have something as good as Lew Grade and ATV today. As it is, we are wall-to-wall with soaps, reality rubbish and lame, daytime crap.

Crossroads was also a soap, but today’s soaps are nothing compared to Crossroads.
now what’s an itv branch doing on bbc again
When commercial tv knew how to produce quality tv.
ATV was decent but Thames TV was the best.
